This place is awesome!
I absolutely love this place and recomend it to all of my friends. I always bring out of towners too-even first time Thai eaters. The result is the same-great food, great ambiance, and a great value. We love the bbq beef appetizer, pad thai, radna, and beef salad. We have not tried a lot of the entrees--we like to snack on a little bit of everything. I recomend this to tourists trying to save a little money. It is a great place!

What's all the fuss about?
This place is nothing special - in fact, it's rather substandard. The food was not very good, and service was mediocre. I had the curry puffs to start, which are among my favorite things at Sala Thai on the UES, where I frequently order delivery from. These were overcooked, and smelled and tasted like the oil that clearly hadn't been changed in a while. The filling was trying to do a sweet-and-savory combination in a way that did not succeed; the sweetness was cloying and really upset my palate. My entree was not much better: the rama beef. The beef was chewy and the peanut sauce was so sweet I couldn't finish the dish. Actually just to cut the sweetness, I mixed in some of the sauce from my friend's massamun curry, which was quite spicy and good, but it was still too much. The one upside is that I thoroughly enjoyed the very bland steamed vegetables as a result of the overpowering sweetness of the sauce. My other friend did not enjoy his green curry, so we decided to get something else just so we wouldn't leave hungry. We played it safe with the satay: it was acceptable. Given the surfeit of decent thai in the city, and in this neighborhood in particular, I do not recommend this place.

great authentic food, speedy delivery!
Great, authentic thai food. I ordered take-out so I don't have much to say about the atmosphere. The person who I spoke with very patiently took down detailed directions about how to deliver to my work. The Pad kee mao was wonderful!! The papaya salad was great!

Avoid the Appetizers
This is a great place for real Thai food!!! However, do not order any of the appetizers. We ordered six different items so we could share a bunch of food and we had to send four of them back. We actually wanted to send all of them back, but wanted to be reasonable. All six orders of appetizers looked and tasted like pre-made boxed food that were heated-up in a microwave oven. They certainly did not represent the fresh quality that Pam is known for serving. In the end we ordered entrees and, as always, we were highly satisfied. The guy at the front is truly not friendly and makes for a cold welcome. The female server was highly irked with us for sending back the appetizers and demonstrated her disdain for us all through the dinner... right up to the end when she tossed the bill at us. However, there was a male server who was very pleasant and accommodating all night and kitchen was most gracious in accommodating our need to send back the items and in the end we had a delicious meal. We will return again!

Look no further... this is it!!
This is one of those amazing FINDS in New York City. The food is INCREDIBLE, by far the best Thai food I've ever had. The wait staff is friendly and will make suggestions, but the menu pretty much says it all. Often you will see Pam sitting at a table watching people eat her AMAZING dishes. My favorites are the Crispy Pork with Basil, plus the Pad Se Ewe (???), plus another specialty of the house with ground beef that is simply out of this world!!! The prices are SENSATIONAL and I hope I won't have to wait too long for a table since you'll be reading this, becoming a regular and telling all your friends about it!

Good food - poor attitude
The food here is fantastic and easy on the wallet. But what's with the phone attitude? I've dined at the restaurant before and have had a pleasant waitress, but whoever answers the phone for deliveries ought to be trained for proper phone etiquette.
