my favorite sandwhich spot!
this place is the best- they have tons of vegetarian options and they offer the freshest and least expensive sandwhich on the upper west side! a great value and a pleasure. im totally devoted!

Cmon guys, a bit overrated
ok, what everyone says is true. PWw is a nice neighborhood family-owned joint. however, i have to provide some constructive criticism from a frequent customer to the owners. first, your prices are insulting, especially considering that the food is so-so and the service annoyingly slooooooow and laced with attitude (from the non-family cashiers). if you had more variety in healthy food offerings, i'd come much more often. otherwise the choices are pretty much normal sandwiches, chips, candy.

the best
Family owned place is like a second home - terrific breakfast (highly recommend the croissant - huge, sweet, and buttery), with the kindest staff and most welcoming ambiance. Great service, reasonable prices, terrific food. Frequently, neighbors come and just stay to bask in the warmth. Small and intimiate belies the great selection. Also, can order any of the food from the Hungarian Pastry shop next door. Come by 8am and the muffins and pain au chocolat will still be warm from the oven

Charming little spot
A true neighborhood favorite, become a regular and they will greet you by name and remember your favorites! The open face hungarian is great and so is the cold cherry soup if you can catch it. Right next to the Hungarian Pastry Shop! This place has lots of choices for vegetarians and meat lovers alike and the friendliest staff. Its my absolute favorite low-key choice.

Absolutely wonderful!
This little place is an amazing find, especially the chicken curry salad. I guarentee if you try it you will be hooked. The couple who own the place are incredibly sweet and genuine. I highly recommend it. Get lunch here then go next door to the hungarian pastry shop for dessert!
