Very nice food cozy atmosphere love it

Seems like the reviews here are all outdated. Ozu has been redecorated...added a liquor license...expanded the menu and added additional servers. Even the process for ordering takeout has been computerized now so it's fast. The servers are sweet and caring and the food is fresh, unique, healthy and reaaaallllllly delicious. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming - you can sit and read a book and enjoy a bowl of terrific soup (the pea soup and the carrot soup are particularly good) followed by - my favorite - a carrot pancake or Special Greens (tofu and kale mix; satisfying and healthy). These guys really care about what they do and they do it really well.

I like the salmon dishes. Try the miso sauce. Good stuff.

Healthy food at a good price.

I think the food at Ozu is amazing; it's healthy and delicious and interesting. The ambience is as good as you are going to get for a restaurant in this price range. And as for the service, you just need to be on top of them. Two of the times I went there, I was in a big rush and I told them that as soon as I walked in. Both times they took great care of me and had me out of the restaurant with full belly less than half an hour after I walked in!

I have been going to Ozu with my family for years. While the food is consistently fresh and tastefully prepared, the staff is unfriendly, indifferent to customer service and will charge you for every extra bit of sauce. They also just raised their prices on all menu items. Additionally, if they are too busy, they will not deliver food. I had one experience where they forgot part of my delivery order, and I called them immediately after the delivery person left. I asked if they could either bring the forgotten food or credit me for the entree. Instead of admitting the mistake, the person who answered the phone yelled at me, suggested I was trying to scam Ozu, and then hung up. I walked over to the restaurant to speak with the manager, and once the staff recognized me (from previous visits), they apologized and gave me the meal. However, the man who answered the phone said nothing and continues work there.

I thought this place served Japanese food so imagine my surprise when I ordered the Soba Mariko and it turned out to be basically a fried seitan cutlet on top of spaghetti with marinara sauce. A more clear description and I definitely wouldn't have ordered it. We also ordered the Thai noodles. Both dishes were bland and totally unremarkable. I wouldn't eat here again. I really wanted to like this place from all the good reviews, but honestly, I just couldn't get myself to like it. This was my first and last visit.
