Fantastic salmon but avoid white tuna

The salmon sushi special at Oyogu is fantastic. It's like biting into butter. On the other hand, any roll with white tuna is the most vile thing I've ever tasted. It tastes like the tuna is muttled because it's practically liquid. Avoid it at all costs. Service is friendly and fast. If you order in, they deliever in about 20 minutes.

    Disappointing sushi!

Stopped in here after finding out Sushi Seki was booked. There's a reason people keep talking about the vegetarian rolls.. it's because the fish here is awful. The construction of the sushi roll is just as bad. I had standard fare - sushi combo (tuna roll, yellowtail roll, salmon roll- how can you mess this up?) I don't even WANT to know what my "yellowtail roll" contained. It looked strange (chopped up and off-white in color) but I tried it anyway and had to spit it out and send it back. The salmon was slimy and fatty. The rice was HOT... I don't think they use sushi rice. Hot sushi is just strange. I traded my yellowtail roll for a sweet potato tempura roll, and even that wasn't great... fell apart on the plate. Overall, the worst sushi restaurant I've been to.

    Amazing Surprise

We found this place after trying 2 times in one week to have dinner at another sushi place nearby that we like. After the other place was not able to take us TWICE, we walked the neighborhood to see what other sushi places we could try. This place is small and it was our anniversary and wanted to have a nice dinner, so we were unsure of what it would be like. We were so surprised at the excellent, excellent food. It was extremely fresh and the food options were many. If that wasnt enough to make us enjoy our evening, we were blessed to have the most outgoing and friendly waitress who was helpful and a pleasure to talk with. To make the evening even more special, once the owners found out it was our anniversary all of them including the chef congratulated us and surprised us with desert. Would recommend this place as our #1 favorite new sushi place!

    Poor Sushi

Gooey and chewy rolls that fell apart before you could eat them. No flavor. Not fresh. I would not recommend this place. Try the nearby places. They may be more expensive but worth the extra few bucks.

    Good food for Non-Vegans/Vegetarians

I was a bit apprehensive about eating at this restaurant because I am not a big fan of sushi or california rolls or anything of the like...(I'm a proud meat-eater). To my surprise however the chicken teriyaki with white rice was very, very tasty. The service was prompt and the atmosphere was cozy and serene. You MUST try their Fried Ice Cream! Good stuff...

Some things are worth a try

While some things here are mediocre, the banana tempura is quite delicious!

    Great vegetarian fare

Inexpensive, best vegetable sushi menu in the city. purple dragon, zen, banana tempura... exceptional. the service, while slightly hard to understand, is excellent. the waitresses will remember what you ordered 4 months later. avoid the california roll, i've been told by a meat eater
