Best Price For Awsome Sushi
The Sushi Is Really Good And For The Price You Cant Go Wrong, Its Open Late Which Is Awesome Since I Get Out Late. The Atmosphere Is Ok Could Be Better And The Service Can Improve. Over All Food Is Yummy Price Is Awesome Service Is Sorta Fast And The Servers Are Kinda To Themselves. I Would Defiantly Recommend This Place Tho.

Great sushi great value
Quality- If you know what to get, this place has some of the best rolls in the east village. The Yamamoto roll (not on the menu) is amazing: shrimp tempura topped with white tuna and spicy mayo. Also get the Royal Oyama roll (spicy crunchy tuna/salmon) Value- Excellent, the most expensive rolls are around $8/9, and the average rolls (tuna, salmon, etc) are between $3/4. Atmosphere- Decent, pretty bare and to-the-point. You go to Oyama for the sushi above all else. Service- Hot and cold. Sometimes they are on point, yet others they take a while and waiters will disappear. Overall- Go to Oyama! I go almost weekly, and I can't find a better place to get a good amount of sushi for a great price. I'm a big guy, and I can fill myself to the brim for about $25. Normal people won't spend more than $20 here, including tip.

Cheapest sushi in East Village - and best quality
I've been going here for 7+ years, it's still the cheapest sushi and sashimi place I've found in NYC. The sushi and sashimi is absolutely awesome, always fresh. The spicy tuna rolls are the best I've tasted anywhere, and they do an excellent seaweed salad. The only bad thing is the service - can be a bit slow on a busy night - but it's redolent of a small town Japanese restaurant. Authentic, then.

Not recommended
The food was less than mediocre, and the sashimi was "fishy" tasting which is a no-no for sushi restaurants. I was disappointed and will never go back.

Good sushi/ Great value
I have ordered take-out from Oyama at least 2 dozen times. The value is excellent-50% off if you pick up yourself. When the sushi is fresh, it is amazing. The problem is that at least 50% of the time, it is not fresh (i.e. dry, soggy tempura flakes). It's a gamble!

Great for Take Out
I found this place on menu pages bc it had so many reviews and i started getting take out from here and i have to admit it is very fresh and for a reasonable price. i prob wouldn't eat at the restaurant because I don't like the atmosphere too much, but i still continue to get take out from here.
