The only reason to go here is good value for domestic beer and free bread. The food is disappointing. If you've ever had a good steak, this place abuses your intelligence. Just not good, and in my 1 hour there they messed up 4 other orders including mine. Get a few large beers, chat with the beautiful bartender and leave. Let the tourists keep this place alive

Yes its a chain...but its dang good
A little about me...I live in midtown NYC and eat at all types of restuarants from the 0 to the 5 stars and have eaten at outback well over a dozen times. Outback is my favorite chain restaurant in the city. This place provides excellent value given the reasonable prices. No the steaks you get here are not Peter Lugers or Mortons but for $25 with two large sides- you really can't complain. That brings me to the next topic- the menu is diverse and has something for everyone. There of course is steaks and then they have seafood, pasta, salads etc. Most entrees come with two side which run the spectrum from healthy (veggies and salads) to unhealthy (fries and loaded baked potatoe). My recomendation is get the 9 oz victoria steak with say veggies and fries or veggies & salad. Drinks- They also have some interesting drink concoctions and a good selection of beers. A big plus for me is that the soda you can have free refill. The desserts are very reasonable as well - the carrot cake is above average. What I love most about this place as a NYC eater is the spaciousness of the accomomodations- even if you are just two people you still can get a both that sits 6 people without any hassle whatsoever. For anyone who regularly eats out, you know you can sometimes practically sitting on someone's lap. The place is usually not crowded so the wait's are minimal if any. Service- I have never had any problem with service- water is filled up in a timely fashion, the free bread is replenished very quickly if requested and the staff is usually very pleasant and does periodic checkins. My only complaint about this place is that I think that some of the foods have way too much salt and if that is a concern this may not be the restuarant for you. So if you are really hungry, want spacious seating arrangements and don't want to break the bank- this is the place for you.

Eh...
Went there for lunch today, surprisingly quiet for lunchtime. The food was mediocre at best. I got the Honey-Lime Chicken wrap, one side of the wrap had barely any sauce at all and the other had so much so that it was dripping out of the end, making it soggy and messy to eat. The veggies on the side were very tasty. A friend ordered the buffalo strips appetizer as a meal, be warned, the portion is very small. The drinks are good, I would recommend the Strawberry Passion margarita. The waitress took quite a while to come back to take our order, and our food took pretty long to come out, consider how empty the place was. I found everything on the menu (with the exception of sandwiches and appetizers) to be too overpriced. Not bad, but definitely nothing special.

Burbs Delight
Had out-of-town friends who were insistent on finding out whether anything special or different about a NYC Outback. Answer: no. Bloomin' Onion still a mega-caloric fry-fest, steaks still mediocre, staff still cheerful (probably more aspiring actors/actresses in this crew than Outback Dubuque, though). With about a thousand terrific NYC-bred steakhouses, why eat exactly the same food you can get back home?

Great Delivery Through Seamless Web
Ordered through Seamless web at 11:30am and food was delivered 12:10pm. Ordered the Sliced Prime Rib Sandwich with a side Caesar Salad and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Portions were ample, food was hot and everything was prepared great!

Great value food
My daughter and I ate here on March 5th. Lovely casual feel to this restaurant , the food is excellent, and nothing is too much trouble to the friendly staff. The Cinnamon bread which is served before the meal is absolutely melt in the mouth amazing! We had found this restaurant on Menupages.com and we had printed down the menu before our trip to NYC. My daughter had set her heart on an apple and cinnamon dessert, that we were told had recently been taken off the menu. She explained that we were visiting the city from Dublin, Ireland, and she had been very much looking forward to the dessert to be quickly told, no problem, the chef would make the dessert for her anyway....now, that's service!! The food here is very good, our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered, and of course, dessert was certainly not a disappointment. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again the next time I'm in New York.
