Why is this place not full all the time?
It is hard to believe that I am writing the last two reviews. We keep on going and keep on being amazed. The best chicken and vegetable soup around - in a bowl large enough to take a bath. Hummus and baba ganooghe (bad spelling) that is perfectly pungent and creamy. The crispest and lightest fried calamari. Roast chicken and carrots to die for. Pasta inventive and perfectly cooked. Desserts fabulous - take home cookies and cupcakes. The staff couldn't be friendlier and more efficient. Prices that are very friendly. GO GO GO Ally's dad

How can this place be under the radar?
I continue to be amazed how this place remains under the radar. This is the place I want to go when I need a comforting night without the trendy overly hyped b-s that is all too common in ther NYC restaurant scene. It is like eating at home if home has a very good cook. Went the other night - Russian beet and chicken soup, salmon scallop chowder; roast chicken; grilled vegetables and an incredible LaFreida burger. Desserts amazing and leave room for the cookies - all for $76. You have to go! Amities Gourmandes, ally's dad

Amazing!!!
Went back for dinner with G. Scary good. Perfectly cooked Salmon and Roast Chicken that was as large as it was good. Curried Cauliflower soup and Korean beef for appetizers. I can't get over the balance of quality, friendly service and reasonable prices. Don't miss it! Amities Gourmandes, Ally's Dad

A Total Gem
Ally was doing community service nearby and we needed a place for brunch on Sunday. There was no parking around Odeon or Bouley Bakery. We headed uptown and on Hudson, near Leroy and Morton we found a space in front of a little restaurant. WHAT A FIND! We had a table near the window, filled with flowers and sun. The service could not have been friendlier and the food was perfectly prepared, fresh and, I must say, amazing when one considers the low prices. I asked for scrambled eggs and cheese, lightly cooked and very rare steak. Sounds simple, but you can't believe how many places can't do this. Both were cooked perfectly and they were the best eggs I have ever had. The salad served with this was a great mix and perfectly dressed. G had perfect poached eggs, a muffin and fruit salad so fresh it was hard to believe. Coffee, espresso, 12 grain toast - $28!!! Can't wait to go back for dinner. A REAL FIND.
