    Disappointed

I have been a customer for well over a year, and was surprised to find today's soup little more than greasy, tomato colored water with a bit of chicken, basil and lots of salt. Chicken salad sandwich, grilled veggie and pot roast all get high marks. Not their fault, as instructed by manager/owner (dour matron observing from doorway) the counter folk ALWAYS ask if you want a bag - 3 bottles of tea, 3 sandwiches... hello, shall I carry it in a basket on my head? Yes, I need a bag...I am not a trust fund baby, I work here in the Village. Take it as you find it, but skip the soup. Wasn't always like that....

    a Surprising Charm!

i had dinner last fri with a friend, not expecting too much after reading the reviews, but settling on this restaurant because it was close. WHAT A SURPRISE! the host was very courteous and friendly when i arrived, i had to wait awhile for my friend to arrive and the waitress was very friendly (and not pushy). then came dinner - AMAZING. we ordered chicken and duck, both were very juicy and flavorful! at the end of dinner, the owner of the place came by and made sure we were happy with the food and service....overall, an excellent experience, i highly recommend this restaurant!

    No understanding of customer service

Due to convenience of location, I was a regular customer to Out of the Kitchen for over a year, spending approximately $100 there a week buying lunch for myself and my staff. Although I know the face of every employee behind the counter, their countenance has never grown warm at my presence. I purchased an unappetizing Mahi Mahi taco. Upon complaining they showed no concern and offered no supplement to my disatisfaction. The manager was texting on her cell phone whilst I was complaining with a look of indifference. I told them it was a shame considering I am a frequent customer and the fact that I had to acknowledge this is another concern. The manager then put her elbows on the counter and gave me an attitude for complaining.

    What's with the attitude?

I really don't get the attitude that the service throws around here. One waiter who I've been waited on by (if you can call it that) several times thinks he's working at the waverly inn. Service is generally incompetent, whether by design or not. On the upshot, the food is decent and relatively reasonably priced for the nabe. To be sure, I won't be returning to sit and dine.

Compare them to who in the area?

A chicken dish with one side for 13 dollars a tad much... dish was tasty but side was not... Ambiance is OK, cute and all, so, for the kind of atmosphere it has it is overpriced...

Good in ways, not so hot in others

Food is usually quite good, desserts and cupcakes great , one guy has big time attitude - he works at the cash register, otherwise I find service is good. $4 for a bagel and coffee? Skimpy sandwiches overpriced (more greens than other ingredients so they're like salad sandwiches, soups and burgers excellent. However, who wants to eat dinner in an environment of food refrigerators and an atmosphere that suits a quick lunch or breakfast? Candles on the tables and separating the tables from a grouped arrangement don't create an atmosphere that supports not moderately priced dinners. Some creative ways of hiding the deli atmosphere for dinner might help. Old place had charm while the new place is definitely deli look mixed with trying to be cute diner - very ho hum for dinner.

The new place is SO much better!!

You have to be kidding!! The new place has seating, much better than having to eat in the office, the selection is 4 times what they had before and everything I have had has been great, The burgers A1 and so are the pressed sandwiches. Many of the same staff are still there so how has the service gotten worse? Went to Bruch and it was a little hectic but they were busy so what do you expect?
