Don't chew gum in my face!
The food is just average-but not unappetizing if you just can't leave the neighborhood. But, what shocked us- the waiter-actually all the waiters were chewing gum. He takes our order chewing like a cow right in my face-way too close! then brings the wrong stuff--after repeating the order! but most places would just leave the error- not here-they scooped it up! it was actually funny!

We love it!
After trying so many places on UES, so happy we found this place. Food was great. Not greasy. And we loved everything we ordered. Love the sesame chicken, lo mein and chicken fried rice. We have only done take out, but will definitely go and eat there.

Old place, we miss you
We were very disappointed in all aspects of the new restaurant..... the noise ,food, decor and quality of service. We spent all our birthday dinners at the other Our Place and always enjoyed wonderful food and hospitlaity. What happpened.? You had a winner, why did you try to become something you are not?

Good and getting better
Last night, we ate a simple meal at Our Place: Cuisines of China, which has moved to 79th Street after 20 years on 82nd and Third. The new place is brighter and less formal than the Original but it was as welcoming and perfect for a cold night out. We ate simple familiar dishes: a very nice moist but crisp scallion pancake, an order of pork fried dumplings, which were plump but not obese, and were soft and chewy on top and crispy at the bottom but not the bit greasy. The manager, brought us an order of buns, she called sunshine buns to taste, filled with pork and cabbage, they were steamed and fried and speckled with sesame seeds. It's something she wants to add to the menu and asked our opinion. Our yes was as sincere as it was enthusiastic. We also suggested she continue to introduce new things to the menu. (There's a new younger chef and he will soon be adding dishes to their now famous, if perhaps too familiar, menu.) We ordered moo shu pork and asked that they be rolled thin and tight. The waiter complied and gave us cigar like rolls that were not were easy and enjoyable to eat with our hands. The scramble dish tasted fresh and clean and complex and it missed only lilly buds, but otherwise excellent. We ate with it roast pork fried rice that was quite good, the pork as rich and succulent as you'll find in Chinatown—we wanted comfort food on a cold damp evening and we left comforted. The good news is I think Our Place will get better and better with time, without losing its original appeal.

Yummy!
This place is in a new location and this was our first time trying it. We went in for lunch and it was delicious. Best scallion pancakes I have found in this neighborhood. Food was not greasy or overly heavy. Plus their variation on egg drop soup was so tasty! I would highly recommend other's try this out and I will definitely go back. If you compare prices to other places, lunch specials are a bit pricier, but worth it!

No longer our place
We used to love this restaurant until its move. Totally different place now. The food is not the same, downhill. The prices have even gone up while everything else went down! Sorry to say we will not be going back.

first date success
In a word, terrific! We came across this little gem on the UES trying to find a spot for our first date. At first glance we thought it was a post office but to our pleasant surprise we found ourselves the best Chinese east of the pacific. Dumplings and the chicken with garlic sauce are a must. Our place is officially "our place"!
