I have dined here a few times and have had an overall good experience. For the price, the portions are very generous and the food is tasty. You will not find any fancy items on the menu, but all my meals reminded me of good home cooking. The waitstaff is accomodating and attentive. One time I mentioned that our appetizer was not very good and pointed out what was wrong, but told the waitress we would still eat it, and without my knowledge she took the item off the bill. Most places would not do that sort of thing. Great place to have a nice, inexpensive meal in a comfortable atmoshpere.

I decided to give Ottomanelli a try for lunch the other day after reading the reviews for great burgers on this site. When I arrived in the late afternoon, the restaurant was completely empty, and yet it still took 15 minutes to get my medium-done Wisconsin burger, that actually came out rare. While the size of the platter (which included fries) was impressive, the fixings were not. The bacon especially was disappointing, as it was just several pieces of undercooked white fat. Maybe I caught Ottomanelli on a bad day, but I really don't think the burgers live up to any of the hype.

this place is a gem. best prices on the UES, the food, while it won't blow you away, will never dissapoint. Friendly service in comfortable surroundings. Give it a shot and you'll become hooked.

Great food, but annoying service. For example costs 3 dollars to change the sauce on a pasta... when the past itself costs 10 dollars.

I always get takeout from here (probably at least once a week) and i love this place. The food is very good and the value is great ($15 for a sirloin steak in nyc!?). The steaks are my favorite, but I also know the steak burgers are great, and also the 'specials' (e.g. cheese tortellini with alfredo sauce)...FYI the specials are not on the Menupages menu, so you'll have to go there to get the full list...the service seems a little iffy sometimes...but cmon, you're in new york, what did you really expect?...for great food at great prices, you got to check this place out...
