i am from nyc, big fan of italian food, wines, cured meats, cheese, etc. went back to Otto recently, big disappointment. apart from cheese and cured meat platter, food was LOUSY. pasta, which i know is supposed to be al dente, tasted mushy, drenched in too much sauce. pizza was also too saucy, no cheese, skimpy on toppings. mebbe they are cooking things in bulk, cutting costs, but food is suffering. i'd rather go to bella vitae, enoteca, noodle pudding, al di la, than this batali disaster in the making.

I could tell the octopus salad had been sitting around all day. It had a fishy smell and was over-salted. The roasted beets were good, but also too salty. The pasta with guanciale was too saucy and salty. Poor, slow service. I asked for a spoon twice, to eat my pasta, never got it. I did like the fresh bread and breadsticks.

First of all when i got there i had to wait 45 minutes. After the wait i ordered water, tap. It took them 25 minutes to get me my water, and by then i was no longer thirsty. The food was fantastic but the service ruined it.

Second time here and as good as we remembered. Celebrated SIL's b-day and everyone enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the vibe, service could always be more attentive but it's a busy place and they were stretched for sure. Great for groups in a moderately noisy restaurant.

Had dinner at Otto last night with a group of friends. The food was good, not great (pizza was ok, gelato was better) the best part was the prices. The service was unsatisfactory, but I guess you get what you pay for. One funny observation, I thought the staff was quite haughty considering they work in a pizza parlor.

I have always been a huge fan of Otto and decided to have a party last night for 10 people at the restaurant. I made the reservation about a month ago and they called to confirm the reservation the day before. We showed up last night to find that they had cancelled my reservation and did not appear apologetic at all and we had to wait an extra hour for a table. I wanted to let the staff at Otto know that they have lost 10 valuable customers.

Salt on top of the salt. Was anybody home in the kitchen? Felt like a bad sodium trip to olive garden. I live in the area and would not go back.
