Disappointing
Confusion with our order, constantly having to ask for ice water/tea, and more than a 30 minute wait ruined the dinner for us. Sushi was sloppy and fell apart when gently picking it up. Overall, service and quality were well below average. I recommend trying other places in the area.

I love Osaka
This restaurant has been in the neighborhood for many years, and the quality of the food and service have been consistent. It's rare to find such consistency in NY, and I'm so glad we have this gem so close by. Everything I ever ate there was great, their sake selection is very nice, and in the summer you can sit out in the garden. Thank you Osaka!

Solid and Fresh
Osaka has an innovative menu and overly ample portions. I couldn't believe the size of the sashimi. The menu is a solid restaurant that you can go to for a casual dinner or something a little more upscale. Good quality, fresh food

Disappointing service, too close atmosphere
So we tried this place again ...the fish isn't bad..but there are lots of fresher places in the neighborhood! The rolls are larger then some but not necessarily as fresh as places just a few blocks away. Its almost impossible to eat as you are sitting on top of others next to you. Lastly the spotty service, the confusion over our rolls and the 1/2 wait for our food, will keep me away permanently.

dreamy...
I'm a regular customer at Osaka and the service here is fantastic. I come in and they always treat me to something on the house and they're so friendly. Sometimes I sit on the Sushi bar and the chefs make me a special roll. Fish is the freshest it comes, the service is as friendly as it can get. The dinner boxes are great deals as well.

Top Japanese Restaurant
Black Pepper Tuna roll - agreed, very good. Osaka Roll, also very good. Bonzai Tree and interesting appetizers, also very good. There are so many things I like on their menu that I can come here several times a week (or I could before the recession). Usually I get sick of the same cuisine after too long, but these guys do it right. I just don't understand why more places in Manhattan don't get it right! In terms of "standard" Japo dishes, the quality is also very good. If you are going to eat Japanese, I'd recommend this place.
