    Not impressed

Place was cramped, hot, no ventilation. Sangria was just okay. o" Go for the signature "oro" drink instead. I really want to like this place so i keep going back but i think this might be it. It was just uncomfortable and stuffy (and overpriced)

    Great Food, Great Space

I was at Oro a few times last year and really loved the atmosphere and casualness of the place. I had a birthday celebration here recently and it was great fun. They were super organized and cool about everything (even though a few glasses broke). The food was really nice, especially the cupcakes. I had pre-ordered some appetizers and red velvet cupcakes and everything looked wonderful and tasted great. Loved the braised short rib sliders, hot artichoke, and charcuterie and cheese platters. Highly recommended.

    Hidden Gem

I hesitate to recommend a "real find" for fear that its intimate, comfortable atmosphere with friendly service and inexpensive prices will attract others but out of respect to its owners, they need to be given the credit due, particularily since this is the first rewiew. Because of the multitude of choices in NYC, I seldom go back to the same restaurant unless I find the atmosphere and service to be outstanding. ORO is such a place where I've made the exception principally because of its informal "feeling" of being in a close friend's living room. The food, mostly bakery desserts are all homemade and the mulled wine is worth the return trip alone. I initially found this place through a review in AMny and will definitely make it a favorite for a casual, relaxing respite.
