lovely trattoria with true italian food

The best italian restaurant on the Upper East. Great atmosphere and very good service. Veal ragu with pappardelle and pesto was amazing as well as the freshly made pizzas. Great place to grab a drink at the bar or have a relaxing dinner. You can't go wrong with any of the menu choices. Mussels and crab cakes were out of this world. Very friendly and warm staff. Definitely have to check this place out. Its a must.

    Good food, but

The food at Opus is consistently good whether chicken, fish or pasta. The service is fair. Some of the waiters have an attitude and it seems like they are doing you a favor to do their job. We have had delivery twice, once they got the order wrong and the other time the didn't give us the flat bread that they usually do. A small detail, but when you pay $20 for chicken, it is the least they could do.

Great if you need to be gluten free!

I've eaten here twice - once in the restaurant and once through take out. The gluten free pizza is very small and not the best. The gluten free pasta (I had the penne) and focaccia bread is excellent. Well worth a visit or delivery order.

Solid new place for those in need.

My girlfriend has celiac so we are always looking to try new stuff. This place is nice, like the decor, good staff and good food. Gluten-free substitutes for all the pasta and gluten-free pizza is coming soon. Still some kinks to work out but I hope this place succeeds and people have more options.

    We got our moneys worth

This is the second time my boyfriend and I had dinner on this new place called Opus on second avenue. We were surprised the first time to find that not only you get quality food and you dont leave hungry without breaking the bank. The wine list looked extremely reasonable and we found out, that it actually was. The first time we went in for a bottle of wine and a brick oven pizza, which took us back to our trip to Italy. It is refreshing to find a restaurant, that actually gives you what you pay for. There is a lot of imitations here of what people consider Italian food but for us this is the real McCoy. The place is clean and the staff is very attentive, unlike other places up here , which look down on you if you dont spend a fortune.
