We loved Charm and were sad to see it go, Thought we would give this place a try, but what a mistake! the chicken Satay had pieces of chicken that most people would throw away. Not only was the quality terrible, it was overpriced for the portion (we threw it all away). cashew chicken was so so as was the pad Thai.

Just ordered the chicken cashew nut and asked them to make it mild. They delivered in less than 20 and it was delicious. I am not a fan of most of the UWS thai places but this place is better than most. Will definitely order again!

This is the first time we ordered from here, and we were hopeful about new Thai in the neighborhood. We ordered green papaya salad, shrimp tom yum, steamed dumplings, and red curry. The tom yum soup was completely overpowered with fish sauce, the papaya salad lacked any fish sauce or flavor (or spice, despite ordering "Thai Spicy"). The red curry was very sweet, and the dumplings were soggy, and didn't come with any dipping sauce. Such a disappointing experience.

Opai is an upscale version of Charm Thai with the same value. downfall, BYOB while waiting for liquor license. Had amazing Thai fish soup last night. (Thai version of Bouillabaisse.) I'm still thinking of my meal and ordering takeout tonight.

I LOVE Thai food. Love it. To date I've been pacified with our Thai options in the UWS but not blown away by any one place... Until now. We tried ordering from Opai bc they slid a menu under our door... Thank God! Since then I've ordered from them at least 10 other times trying different things usually... Although the pad se ew with beef and green curry with chicken (w/ extra side of rice) are two staples I order every time. The Pad Thai is great though I like it with extra limes or lemons. The Tom Yum soup has such a complex flavor it will amaze you. The spring rolls we thought were fresh rolls so were disappointed to realize they were fried, but that was our fault. The broiled red snapper was yummy-- simple, clean protein if you're looking for something pure- though realize it's the whole fish (head, fins, etc!). The basil fried rice was spicy but delish. We're trying the drunken noodles and cashew nut with chicken tonight! Can't wait for others to agree with how yummy their food is... Happy eating! Oh, one other thing, another pet peeve of mine is when it takes me 10 minutes to order delivery bc I can't understand the person on the other end of the line or vice versa. At Opai, they speak clearly and repeat things back to you like, "Apt 15E as in Edward"... So you know they got the order right! One more reason I give them 5 stars! Ordering delivery is a painless experience!
