Chinatown has better service!
I have been here a few times when it first opened and considered it a good neighborhood spot although was never really an authentic japanese place with staff anyway, however lately sushi grade is down and overall less fresh (hit or miss!). Service has deteriorated even more, staff seemed hurried, impatient and poorly attentive. Good place to pass!

Great Sushi
My family and I love Ooki. We tried it when it opened a couple of years ago and have been hooked ever since. It is a small place, nice decor, and being we frequent often the servers know us and are very nice. They have many types of great rolls that are not offered at others sushi restaurants. When I cannot afford Nobu or Koi this is a great back up plan. I have turned lots of friends on to this place and they love it as well.

top fave sushi spots in nyc-love ooki!
my bf lives in the ues, and we have been visiting for the past couple of years-i have been to tons of sushi places in nyc, including queens and bklyn, over the past decade and i have to say that ooki has got to be in my top 3 faves. the food is fresh, deliciously prepared and inventive with delicate flavors abounding. the portions are perfect, the rolls are never over packed with rice (you get lots of great fish), and i have found our dining experiences consistently great. the staff have always been friendly and accomodating (ok, ONCE we had a sort of spazzy waitress, but give them a break) and the atmosphere is cozy, fun and romantic. a little pricey, sure, but you get what you pay for, and def. not exorbitant. it is always a real treat for us to visit ooki! highly recommended. p.s. the tuna tartar IS amazing!

Disappointing!
We recently ordered from Ooki and were terribly disappointed. The sushi did not taste fresh, the guacamole was brown, and the prices are crazy...not worth a $40 delivery! The only good thing, the food came really quick...suspicously quick.

Great Sushi Place
We order take out from Ooki weekly. The sushi and sashimi is always very fresh and tasty. Delivery is prompt. Definitely a great restaurant on the UES.

Unpleasant service
Decent food but unplesant service. There's something wrong with the girls working there. They act like they'd rather be somewhere else. They won't refill your water unless you ask and act really annoyed when you ask them for something. There are plenty of sushi places in the area..avoid this place unless you're getting food to go.

Customer service is no good
Food is decent. Spicy rolls are nice. Not too expensive but their attitude needs adjustments. They make you feel like you are wasting their time. I live in the neighborhood but avoid this place because its just not a great dining experience.
