Beam me up Scottie
Right into Japan. A friend of mine rec. this place years ago. His wife is Japanese so if the rec if coming from them , you know it's worth the splurge. The atmosphere is serene and simple. The service is excellent; never obtrusive and cold. They apologized sincerely because both entrees did not arrive on time. We didn't mind, and their attentiveness was admirable. The food was simply presented, clean , savory, fresh flavors. After a carafe of sake and fresh, buttery sashimi, and grilled salmon, one couldn't ask for anything more. A bit pricey, but then again by NY standards it's accepted. You get what you pay for here; quality, service, and experience.

One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants.
A wonderfully authentic Japanese restaurant with a simple, traditional but not your run of the mill Japanese menu. It's Japanese comfy food at its best.

Excellent Japanese Food
Whenever I come into the city, I make a point to have dinner at Omen. Being Japanese, I'm fairly particular about the food as some restaurants are not run or do not have Japanese chefs that serve the food. That is not the case here. Everyone is Japanese and the food taste, quality and presentation are to die for. Be sure and try the Black Miso Cod. I could eat this daily. Omen is a wonderful dining experience. I brought a foodie and a non-foodie there last week and both loved the food and atmosphere.

If you're in the area stop by
My boyfriend and I stumbled on this place about a year ago. We are both chef in NYC and we try to find new places off the beaten path. A friend recomended it and we thought that we would give it a try. We are hooked! We have been going back ever sence, the food is outstanding, the service is excellent. If you are going to try anything to drink may I suggest the Pacific Rainbow and the Ginger Saketini, they are out of this world. Just remember to bring cash or a american express because they don't take any onther credit cards.

Underrated
Here is a Japanese restaurant that is actually underrated. What a concept! The food is simple, fresh, honest, and elegant. I didn't detect any B.S. here. Wonderful sashimi.
