I don't know what it is about Middle Eastern eateries. It's like they have an oligarchy where they fix the prices across town - to make it exorbitant if you ask for combinations or variations. For food that is lying there all day in the buffet trays, they charge the price of a whole meal for a side portion, and don't have any flexibility if you want to mix and match. The taste is really good I have to say. But the servie is poor. Unfriendly, even when totally empty (ie most of the time outside the lunch rush)

I gladly walk 15 minutes (uphill both ways!) to Omar's once or twice every week for lunch. Get the Veggie Combo platter. The hummus is great, you can actually taste the eggplant in the Babaganoush, and the falafel is made fresh as you order. And for meat eaters, the shawarma is by far the best I've ever had --- spicy & garlicky and still recognizable as coming from something from the Animal Kingdom (i.e., not a gray, tubular mass). The owner clearly cares about what he's doing. This is evidenced by the warm pitas, the occasional complimentary bite of baklava, and the homemade red sauce & tahini. Delivery is not really their thing, so go there in person. The staff is efficient and friendly. Oh, and they play great, non-generic Middle Eastern music, at a very pleasant "background music" volume. Worth a trip even if you don't live or work in the area. And essential if you find yourself in Midtown East.

The place is packed at lunch time, a sure sign that they are doing something right on quality. But, I have to say, out of lunch times (when they have special prices), the place is a rip-off. Over priced, meagre portions, and scowling serving staff who seem disappointed whenever someone enters and they have to awake from their slumber! I would give this place a better rating if they were more flexible on their combination platter make-up and weren't so exorbitant in the evenings or weekends.
