    Keeps Changing

My husband and I ordered from here last year when they first opened and loved it. It wasn't overly greasy-it was healthy enough to order once a week. Then all the sudden the dishes came SOAKED IN OIL/BUTTER. I would order the lentil dish and half the bowl was oil, I could barely eat it. Same thing for my hubby's Tikki Masala. I called the owner to complain. We tried ordering 1-2 x more to see if it was a fluke but it was still bad. Too bad.

    Best indian food on UES

Can't say enough about the food at Om. Everything we tried was excellent, and judging from the reactiona at nearby tables, our fellow diners were equally pleased. The parathas are the best anywhere. They have a limited, byt decent, wine and beer selection, as well as lassis and soft drinks. The atmosphere is low key and pleasant and the service was just right.

    Bad business

I have read nothing but good reviews on this restaurant. The service that I've had on two occasions was not. The first time we had an office meeting the gentleman bringing it got lost within a few blocks. The food was almost an hour late. The second time, I was promised earlier service on the phone for a lunch meeting by someone one day. The very next, I was told by someone else (very rudely) that he wasn't the person I spoke to the day prior. He also told me that the service the employee told me about the day prior cannot be done. He then proceeded to hang up on me. The food here is very good. I would have loved to get the stellar service everyone else received.

    Delicious

First time eating here and it was delicious. The service was excellent and they provided great recommendations! We also loved that it was a BYOB. Can't wait to eat there again!

Probably the BEST on the UES

I've been here a dozen times, now and finally decided to review. Downright wonderful food. I've tried both veggies and meat dishes; appetizers through entrées--all are superb. Only drawback don't do the dessert--it merely OK not like the rest of the menu. I'm frighten to submit this as the place is small and seating limited. Must must must have a reservation.

    Subpar

Are we talking about the same place. This is not good Indian food. The vegetables were shriveled. The meat was extremely dry and chewy. Prices are decent but reflects fast food quality of what you're getting

    so salty!

great service and good music but the food was extremely salty. i got the chicken saag and it would have been delicious if it had half the amount of salt. The naan was good but nothing special, a little on the dry side. all in all nothing to write home about.
