For a breakfast bargain
I agree with the reviewers here. Best bargain for breakfast. A simple sort of retro place. Lovely people. But the place could use a massive cleaning and try to avoid the bathroom - it's a long climb up and when you get there, well, you'll have to trust me on this. BUT don't let that stop you from enjoying a true dive diner that serves a good breakfast with lots of local color and sweet staff.

Not clean
Seriously, I don't know if I should believe reviews anymore. Apart from menupages, read reviews from other sites and I thought I'd have an ok experience with this diner. Was looking for a place that was open on Friday morning. This place was reviewed as a 50's diner type place and When we walked in, it was kind of ugh. We were too hungry to look for another place. The breakfast was ok, the sausage was actually good. but would never recommend this place to anyone. Oh and make sure you don't fill your bladder while you're there. Restroom was disgusting! I don't know what the LES standards for diners are but this was horrible compared to the west side diners. Is there another Olympic resto that other reviewers could have mistaken this one for??

best local hangover cure
I've never actually eaten at this place (though i walk by it all the time; it's cute--an old-school place with pies on the counter and people reading papers with their coffee), but i had to write a review calling out how great their delivery is. The perfect thing for a weekend hangover- and cheap, too! Definitely the best option on the LES. Highly recommend the eggs, fries, silver dollar pancakes, sandwiches and hash browns. Boyfriend loves the "deli duo"- which comes with two pastrami sandwiches on little round buns. The grits, alas, are meh.

They have yummy grits!
Your basic standard old skool breakfast fare, i.e. delicous. and very cheap as well. and let me say the grits are yummy, especially because good grits are hard to find in the city i think. so if you're in the LES and looking for some greasy bacon & eggs, this is the place to go.

Weekend repeater
Great bargain, great bargain, great bargain! I love this place, the breakfast is a bang for your buck and once you go you will come back. The atmosphere is classic old school diner with the owner greeting you as you walk in. Olympic is nothing fancy but a real persons/local diner.

Olympic Quality Food!
I dine here every time I'm in NY. The food is great and abundant portions. The staff and customers are wonderful. Go for the experience. Stay for the bargain.
