for a chain this is a great place to eat. the waitress's are good and the food is really great . i've suggested ollie's to my friends and whenever they go to the city they eat at ollie's. the place is always full but the dozen or so times we went we didn't have to wait. the only thing i don't like about it is the bathroom.

It's the best Chinese food in NYC and the other Ollie's locations just don't compare. The service is speedy, however there is absolutely no personality with the wham bam in and out servers. Great for a pre-theatre or quick meal, and take out and delivery is incredibly fast. Overall a great place if you're alone or in a group, and the food is fantastic!

Ollies has a lot of potential but they need to work on it. We really liked the atmosphere but the service bordered on rude. The waiter gave us very little time and would not or could not describe the dishes we were inqiring about. The chicken, broccoli in garlic was tasty but the General Tso's chicken was cooked too much and there were just bits of chicken in way too much batter. Portions of these two dishes were on the small size.

Food is great and really affordable. basically across the street from where I live so easy to grab takeout when I come home from work. Waited only 5-10 min for food which was great, and servings were large, hot, and delicious. i agree with the comments about the coldness of the staff... But i was only doing take-out so it made no difference to me.

The food here is great, especially compared to other chinese take-outs. The prices are, on the other hand, a bit higher. The quality of the food is quite good as well. The worst thing about this place is that it's difficult to eat there: everyone is practically sitting on top of each other and you always feel like you are in the middle of someone else's conversation. The food is brought to you quickly, but if you order an appetizer and entree beware that both will probably be brought together. They also don't have problems with just bringing out one person's food at a time, so you may be brought your dish but your friend will wait for his for another 5 mins -- its a bit awkward. My suggestion is, just stick to Ollie's take-out.

The staff is unfriendly and entrees might be served late or at different times. But if you are in a rush and you want to sit down to eat, Ollie's is an affordable option for Chinese food.

Chinese is my numero uno cuisine. At Ollies, I tried the fried rice and the Char-sui bau's. Both were very tasty indeed. I'm from the UK and I live in the Netherlands - where virtually all the food stinks. So maybe I've missed to much good food. And I know NYC has some of the greatest restaurants on the planet. But next time I visit NYC, I'm definately going to go again. The service is definitely an issue. But it's not that bad. There are some lovely staff there. But one or two seem to have the responsibility of getting rid of people. On the way out you're given a big beautiuful smile - which makes it alright.Give it a try.
