    Ok food rude service

If you live near columbia you know this is one of few sorta decent places that deliver upto at least 145th street. Food is alright...a little above average I would say, but the service is really...I mean really rude. If you can help it...don't eat there just order out. I think they know people will eat there regardless (due to the convenience factor), so they probably feel ok not listening to reviews on menupages.

    Customer service

I do experience very bad customer service attitude anytime i call to order a take out. The ladies there are very rude and should be trained in providing excellent customer service to their customers whom without them, they wouldn't be in business.

    high kicking takeout

we get takeout at ollies once or twice a week. never dined in but judging by reviews, may not want to. the food is pretty good. it's pretty fresh and they haven't messed up my order. great value for good food. maybe it's because we tip well?

    Sick of customer service.

I'm glad to see the other reviews share my poor opinion about their service. I only have ordered take-out, which is usually good, if not standard Americanized Chinese food. I do like that they have a large selection of regional Chinese food, like intestines (have tried it, don't recommend it, but kudos for offering it), and my boyfriend really liked their mango beef dish which I don't see at other places. I will say though, that it really bothers me when their delivery man counts his tip immediately in front of you and shakes his head in disappointment. There is a recession for everyone right now but he doesn't seem to appreciate the business, or is very possibly simply ignorant of global economics. Even when I am feeling generous and tip $5+ I never get thanked. I wanted to take back my tip last night and give him nothing. The soup we ordered was lukewarm, as was the entree. During times like these it would behoove a business to provide quality customer service to keep their customers coming back. Since there are 100's of Chinese restaurants I will certainly give my business to a different restaurant next time I order Chinese food and go w/ the one w/ that is overall best in service and taste. Is that so difficult to grasp Ollies?

    love-hate relationship

I often only get steamed spinach wontons and steamed vegetable dumplings. IMHO, they're perfection - these juicy and flavorful morsels never let me down. BUT, everything else, I think, should be considered carefully. I normally just get delivery, and they have never ever (really, not once!!) gotten my order totally right if I have ever ordered anything more than the spinach wontons and the steamed dumplings. They usually "forget" a soup or two, but on more than one occasion they have "forgotten" to include a smaller but WHOLE dish. And when you call them to ask them to deliver this, you will have to wait AT LEAST 45 minutes, no matter how close-by you live (on many occasions I have had to call more than an hour and a half later to ask them where my forgotten dish is... AND they have given me the run-around, with multiple calls, "the delivery guy's on his way, outright rudeness/hangups, etc). Honestly, I only keep ordering from them because they have awesome spinach wontons and dumplings, and their food really is good comfort food when you are stressed out doing mountains of school work or you're just sick... But order carefully: other dishes have been sketchy (numerous occasions where beef dishes have tasted like aluminum, etc)

If you want surly "service" and greasy food, by all means, come here. Chinese food in NYC isn't stellar, but this place takes it to a whole new (low) level. Calling in for delivery isn't much bettter, as your order will be taken by a grunting woman who slams the phone on you as soon as you're done. The food also arrives lukewarm, which just adds insult to injury.

    Decent food, terrible service.

My friends and I came here for a quick eat, and I admit the prices were pretty low and the food was good and filling. The atmosphere and decoration was nice. Good place, right? Sure if you want to put up with poor service. First off, instead of having one waiter I had one waiter take my order, another one bring me the food, another one give me a check and a fourth to take my money. Second, they mixed up the orders so as my friend were eating I had to wait for my food. Third, one waiter gave me someone else credit card. Of course, I gave it back but imagine if someone took it? Last and most important, one of the waiters said that our tip wasn't 15% (because they didn't deserve it) and almost demanded another dollar to match the 15%. This place is decent if you want to grab something to eat when in the area but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to someone else.
