    The awful paradox of Ollie's

The paradox is this: on the menu one finds perhaps a hundred choices. The mind reels at the culinary virtuosity that must support this variety. Yet every dish is prepared just about the same way with just about the same sauce albeit with different combinations of meats or vegetables. This still might be okay except for the fact that the preparation is careless and the sauces are bland and needlessly greasy.

Mediocre food, expensive, and poor service

In Ollie's defense, certain items on the menu are pretty good -- the pea greens with garlic, the big wonton soups -- but in general, it's only so-so. The main issue is that it costs too much (for the quality) and, as most reviews say, the service is really awful. I walked in to place an order for take-out and there was a huge crowd waiting to be seated/order take-out/etc, and the hostesses were chatting with each other with their backs to the customers. When you eat there, they try to take your food away while you're still eating, refuse tips that aren't good enough (we were going to tip 10% because of the poor service, but the waitress shook her head and put the money back on the table), and are impossible to flag down. What happened to asking how everything is? Doesn't happen at Ollie's. Ollie's is really not worth it -- the food, the service, the prices are all sub-par.

    Not recommended

I have had it with this place. Tonight they forgot my diet coke and the soy sauce, after I specifically asked for extra. The sesame chicken was soggy and was not all white meat as I had asked (AND PAID XTRA FOR) Lastly Everything including the egg roll had no taste, like they forgot to use any seasoning at all. Do yourself a favor and skip Ollies.

    Poor service

Man, I've eaten at this Ollie's probably 50 times, ordered out another 100. I like their food a lot, though not everyone does -- some of the best scallion pancakes this side of New Green Bo. Service is efficient, quick and poor, as per the entire chain.

    getting better.....

I had the wicked witch from the East take my order the first time I called. Forgot to order an appetizer so called back and the nicest woman took my order... She was patient and charming.

    I Never Have a Problem

I order from Ollie's often and never have a problem with slow delivery or people who don't speak English. This is a busy, hustling restaurant and they don't have time to be charming...they have to be fast. This is a local 'noodle joint.' Love it for what it is.

    Delivery takes forever

Haven't dined in. Ordered delivery 3 times because food is above average, though it'd reflected in price. Expect 1 hr delivery when they say 30 minutes. Staff can't speak English, thus one of my orders were wrong once.
