Better places, unless you're in a pinch

This place is no longer open until 2AM, which rules them out as a decent late night option. Unfortunately, their food doesn't stack up with other Chinese food places that have similar hours--it's less flavorful and, amazingly, both greasier and drier--so I rarely order from here anymore. Besides, one of their often-used delivery men rapidly rings the door bell before you open it, which is obnoxious.

I hate to write this because I literally grew up on Olliie's from the old location in the 80s. This is not the same food AT ALL. The only thing worth getting from here is one of the noodle soups if you are feeling sick. Otherwise avoid this greasy, sloppy food.

    What happened

My wife introduced me to Ollies about 4 years ago. We both loved it. The last year or two, the food and the service has gone sharply downhill. The last straw was last night. We ordered the pork fried rice, my wife had the roast pork and Bok Choy and I had the scallops in garlic sauce. The food was brought out without the rice for the 2 dishes (I guess they thought that since we are paying for the pork fried rice that we shouldn't get the rice that comes with the 2 dishes). At the end of the meal we asked for it to be wrapped up. When we got home we found that they had thrown out the rest of our fried rice. Now this is one example of many annoying outings at Ollies. If this was just regular priced stuff I probably wouldn't mind but I paid $50 last night for 1 glass of wine and the meal I described. Not to mention that the wait staff neeeeever come by to see if everything is OK. We won't be going back to Ollies again.

    Rude Waitress

First of all. My little bit of everything noodle soup was subpar. Usually it is delicious. I have been out of town for 2 years, and came home to find that my soup has been turned into oily, syrup with no content. I ordered it TWICE two weeks apart to make sure. And this last time I was at Ollie's-- the waitress gave us our bill and we sat and gabbed for a minute. The restaurant WAS NOT BUSY-- and over comes this tall waitress after FIVE MINUTES and picks up our bill tray and dumps the mints off of it on the table and points at the bill. I was Shocked. Yes miss- we will pay you. But we will not tip you. Dont eat at Ollies. General tsos is tasty there- but thats because it is deep fat fried and hard to mess up. Do your self a favor and go somewhere tasty- like anywhere else.

    Greasy food, pushy delivery person

Slightly overpriced and super greasy food: $7 for fried rice!? The lunch special portions are half the size of other local competitors. Exceptionally rude delivery person (@116th Street): After giving a disgusted look demanding more tips (apparently $5 is not enough for a delivery two blocks away), proceeded to drop menus everywhere around the office on his way out - even while being asked not to do so. Not recommended.

I like Ollies food, but if your looking for real chinese food don't go to Ollies. They over grease their food and some of the food you cant even pick up without it sliding off of the fork. Ollies is great for a quick meal, but again, if your looking for something classy, don't pick Ollies. If you were to get one dish, I would either get the dumplings, the chow fun, or the sesame chicken. The dumplings or the are not as greasy as most of their dishes and they are great for an appetizer, or depending on who you are a quick meal. The chow fun is one of my favorite main courses, but just like most other Ollies dishes it is incredibly greasy and has almost no flavor. The sesame chicken is like most sesame chicken sweet and served with broccoli. It is also great over rice. This is my honest review of Ollies, hope it will help you make descisions on whether to eat here or not

    awful delivery

The delivery staff is exceptionally nasty--borderline threatening. If you don't tip well, they will threaten you.
