My boyfriend and I eat out at least 3 nights a week and this is the first time we have had dinner at Olives. I have been there for lunch, but never dinner. We started with the asparagus salad and it was delicious. I almost licked my plate. Then I had the half roasted chicken and my boyfriend had the swordfish. Both dishes were fantastic. I guess if I did have one complaint, it would be that there was no steak on the menu. I thought that was odd. Other than that, perfect! The chef even sent out a small plate of complimentary dessert!

i met up a friend here for sunday brunch. both of us got a burger, which was delicious! they make it with a nice relish for an extra special kick. the burger comes with a platefull of fries, too - you'll leave fully satisfied. to top off the experience, my friend also got a plate of sorbets. everything was great. our server was attentive and courteous. we liked the tables by the window which were nice and spacious. will be back for brunch, no doubt.

We went in last night about 10PM without a reservation. The only seats they had were at a small bar right at the kitchen so that you could watch the cooking and interact with one of the chefs. The food was splendid, the service excellent (everyone came to make sure we were having a good time) and it was more fun than the theatre we had just left. Can't wait to go back.

we came back because the birthday girl loves t he place....this year the service at t he front of the restaurant was wonderful,--- bar, coatcheck, all caring....and the service in the restaurant started out okay....the waitress knew it was a birthday and when it came time for the dessert we waited more than 30 minutes for our dessert....eventually -- after the coffee was cold and our tempers were flaring -- she came back with dessert and took the dessert off our bill....we never asked for it and it never made up for the lull that came over our party....the food was adequate, not outst anding and nothing could make up for the lack of service that we encountered at the end of the meal.....it was an expensive unattractive evening....

The food was okay, definitely not worth the price. The service was both snooty and bad. The waiter forgot to order an appetizer and as opposed to apoligizing for it, got annoyed. Then they brought out two. The dessert was wrong and took an extra 10 minutes to get the correct one out. By that time my coffee was cold and they never offered to refill it. The waiter rarely came back to the table to ask if we needed anything. I would not go back, it was overpriced, mediocre quality and obnoxious staff.

I entertained some folks last week and was pleasantly surprised I must say. This was my first experience at a Todd English venue and to be honest I was expecting something more generic than what it was, just because of the fact that it is in the W in a touristy location. The server, can't remember her name, was excellent throughout, the wine, a perfectly chilled pinot noir, and many courses of wonderful dishes, some we shared, some we fought over. The flatbread with escargot I could have eaten a mountain of, and the shortribs, succulent and delish. Our server forgot to fire our entree, and we were having such a great time we hardly noticed, and by the time we did, the food came out. She surprised us with a dessert sampler to make it up, and somehow after all that, we managed to enjoy it.,well almost all of it as well. We rolled out of there very happy and at about $100 pp with 2 btls of wine, well worth it, it was a culinary evening we won't soon forget. I highly reccommend and agree with a previous post about a table in the back near the private booths being a preferred location. Happy Eating!

Olives is a culinary delight! The food is consistently delicious; the house specialty flatbread with candied fig jam, proscuitto and gorgonzola is not to be missed. Everything from the warm focaccia to the mouth watering pastas to the artistically presented desserts are worth every calorie.
