    Eh

Went for an early dinner. Service was pretty good and so were the drinks and apps (flatbread, salad). The main courses, however, left much to be desired. I love salt, but even I found the scallops to be waaaaay too salty. the chicken was just ok. stick to the bar area.

    Soups, salads, sandwiches

Good for what it is if you want a classy sandwich/soup/salad. Must say that the Market Salad comes in an enormous plastic container with way too much lettuce, it's a little ridiculous. The guy who often takes delivery orders on the phone is slick though, he's always a step ahead so ordering is never BS with these people. Also their cookies are amazing.

    bleh

Mind you, I've been here for lunch many times and loved it each and every time. Dinner last night (Sat) was a completely different story however. We had no reservations, so we sat in the bar to eat. Big mistake. We got tap water quickly, then waited 20 minutes for menus. Then another 20 minutes to order and 15 minutes after ordering our bottle of wine, it arrived via some other server. Starters arrived very quickly, entrees arrived about 25 minutes later. My butternut squash tortelli was fabulous, but the Alaskan King Crab pasta was truly a disaster - dry, crunchy, with no sauce. It wouldn't take much to make it a good meal, a little cream sauce of some sort. As it is (it's a special on the menu), it's truly avoidable. Our service was completely substandard. Not just disinterested, but lacking all signs of personality. You don't have to be Miss Bubbly or anything, just maybe a smile or something to prove you're human! She took our order, but that was the last we saw of her. Needless to say she got a lousy tip. MaƮtre d' was fabulous and got us our check quickly when we asked him for it. Won't ever go again for dinner...it ain't cheap and for what it costs, I expect at least good service. Sorry Todd!

    Exceptional Cuisine & Service

From the moment we sat down, the servers were welcoming, helpful, and informative. I appreciated the professional service and warm atmosphere as did my guests. The menu was superb with such delicious layers of flavors in every dish, my favorite being the sea scallops. My friends enjoyed the lamb porterhouse, the wild striped bass, as well as the tortelli of butternut squash. These rich flavors seemed enough, until we were presented with a warm cookie plate that offered every imaginable dessert treat. Every aspect of our meal was complete... thanks for a great experience.

    No complaints!

My boyfriend and I eat out at least 3 nights a week and this is the first time we have had dinner at Olives. I have been there for lunch, but never dinner. We started with the asparagus salad and it was delicious. I almost licked my plate. Then I had the half roasted chicken and my boyfriend had the swordfish. Both dishes were fantastic. I guess if I did have one complaint, it would be that there was no steak on the menu. I thought that was odd. Other than that, perfect! The chef even sent out a small plate of complimentary dessert!

    excellent!!! brunch

i met up a friend here for sunday brunch. both of us got a burger, which was delicious! they make it with a nice relish for an extra special kick. the burger comes with a platefull of fries, too - you'll leave fully satisfied. to top off the experience, my friend also got a plate of sorbets. everything was great. our server was attentive and courteous. we liked the tables by the window which were nice and spacious. will be back for brunch, no doubt.

    Wonderful experience

We went in last night about 10PM without a reservation. The only seats they had were at a small bar right at the kitchen so that you could watch the cooking and interact with one of the chefs. The food was splendid, the service excellent (everyone came to make sure we were having a good time) and it was more fun than the theatre we had just left. Can't wait to go back.
