"Ditto"
We don't have these types of gourmet deli's where we live......and I enjoyed every bite of my delicious sandwich.

Delicious and Clean!
My friend and I just happend to come across this cute little deli while visiting New York. Don't be fooled by the term "deli", however. They also have kabobs, sushi, salad bar, pizza, gyros, etc., etc. We both got a sandwich, and it was to die for. It was very clean, and there was ample eating area in the back. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

Watch out for the grilled food
Black ashes all over your grilled food!!! Anyone who BBQ'ed knows that one must always remember to brush off the burning ash left on the grill from the previous grilling. The regular grill-man never does so. I visited about dozen times during over 6-month period. The food is almost always served covered with black ash. The man simply doesn't care!

Tourist Trap
This is a good place for tourists but it didn't seem like quality food. I felt ripped off.

Hot and cold
I've had food here more than once. Their sandwiches are really delicious but a tad bit pricey. Not recommended on the weekends. I went here on a Saturday once with a date who ordered fries and they were literally burnt. We ended up throwing it out but they wouldnt give us fresh fries. Disappointing.

Good pizza deli
This is more like a deli than a restaurant. Get your food, pay, and eat in back. What you see is what you get. I tried to order a sausage pizza slice and they said "Tomorrow." I can't get a slice of sausage pizza?? Poor service because of that. So I had a cheese slice, chicken slice, and Snapple for $8.50. That was more than $3/slice. Pizza was very good though. Decor was nice and uniform - lots of wrought iron and ceramic tile.

One of the best in NY
What is amazing about Oliva is how it can have such a vast selection with each one remarkably good. The pizza is the best in the City (which was confirmed by my Italian sister-in-law who d it the best outside of Venice). The kebabs are remarkable and are prepared by an experienced chef from Adana (thus chicken adana), Turkey. Sandwiches are filling and fresh. The cold and hot salad bar [select]ions are a must have. The salads are individually made and are crisp and filling. I have been eating at Oliva for 4 years and have never had a complaint. The staff is courteous, friendly and eager to please. Oliva is a sensory treat at every level.
