Simply perfect
It seems the negative reviews have to do with their delivery. I've never ordered delivery from Olio. Olio has a large number of tables outside along Greenwich Avenue and when the weather is nice - it doesn't get much better than this. The service was excellent. The food was perfectly enjoyable. It was delightful sitting outside and enjoying the weather. Good service. Good food. Good wine. Very nice.

Don't trust these reviews!
Being an Italian I spend half of my night out in NY looking for a good pizza. And at olio you can really taste an amazing pizza. Those who say that is soggy had ever tasted a real pizza? That thin crust dry thing you find in many NY pizza place is not pizza. The mozzarella is meant to melt and the pizza can't be crusty in the middle. That's the way we do it, that's what happens to real mozzarella in a brick oven. I rate Olio 2nd after other pizzerias. Of course I'd suggest to go there only if you're looking for an Italian pizza.

Not recommended
I have never posted a restaurant review before, but was prompted to do so after ordering from Olio. After waiting for an hour for our two overpriced pizzas to be delivered, they arrived cold and soggy. In fact, the pizza's were cooler than room temperature and were soggy - as if they were left sitting outside on a delivery bike in the freezing rain. I have lived in NYC for many years, and eaten countless numbers of pizzas - however, this was truly the most unappetizing I have ever tasted. The two bites I took tasted like wet cardboard without a hint of flavor. We ended deeming them inedible up trashing both of them.

So disappointed
With so many great pizza options in the area, you would expect this impressive at first sight newcomer, to deliver a top-notch quality pizza. Unfortunately, it's a fake. Just like their Frantoia Extra virgin olive oil bottles that they placed on the tables, which are also a fake. I'm not sure how many patrons they’re fooling with these Frantoia bottles that are refilled with CHEAP flavorless olive oil. But I’m sure that many knowledgeable foodies are hip on their deception. I shared the Margherita Extra (winner of world cup & international championship. margherita, cherry tomatoes, bufala mozzarella) doubt it! with my wife along with some of the toughest and tasteless meatballs I ever had. I live right down the block and needless to say, they will not get my business again nor my recommendation.

Poor service
The food is good, the pizza is a lot better than good, but the service here is so screwed up that it almost plays out like a prank. For example, one day a friend and I showed up, sat outside and asked for 2 Bellinis. It took 15 minutes to order, then another 15 minutes for them to tell us they weren't going to make them. I've had similar problems every time I've gone here. The pizzas are good though. They really need to iron out the kinks.

How dare you order off the menu?
Went here today with two friends and luckily we were amused by the extent of the terrible service. Our waiter gave us the strangest looks in response to our queries for water refills and more bread. Our breakfast entrees were oddly assembled in ways that generally included the ingredients mentioned on the menu, but definitely didn't live up to the potential or the aspirational picture in your mind. The icing on the cake was when I ordered pineapple with brown sugar and mint for dessert, only to have the waiter look at me like he didn't know what pineapple was. When it arrived, about ten minutes after my friends got their icy gelato, it was literally oddly cut pineapple rings with brown sugar haphazardly scattered about and a single mint leaf for garnish. Definitely a memorable place, but for all the wrong reasons.

Nice surprise
we stumbled on this place and were very happy. We shared the octopus salad, burrata (which could have used a little green salad with it, none the less a lump of this cheese is always nice) and a mushroom pizza. The burrata was everything you could hope for - fresh and creamy with balsamic glaze to add if we wanted. The pizza reminded me of Italy. a little doughy, but oh so good. All our dishes came out fast and with a smile. We will definitely go back.
