Mediocre
Went for dinner. The tables for two are jammed so closely together that you seem to be on a date with the person sitting next to you rather than the one sitting across from you. Though the place wasn't even completely full, the level of noise was intolerable. And then they put the music on! What ever happened to restaurants with intelligent acoustical design? The Caesar salad was fair, but had too many croutons as filler. The pizza was mediocre, but that may be because I am Italian and a connoisseur of pizza. Service was sloppy. Prices are okay. Will never return.

Great the First Time, Terrible the Second
We went to OliO shortly after they first opened for business, and were pleasantly surprised. The food was pretty good, somewhat different and not too expensive, although the service was unfriendly and not very professional. The second time we went there, though, the prices had gone up, the service was even worse, and our pizza and seafood pasta came out in about 5 or 6 minutes, which means they were precooked and then microwaved after we ordered them. Everything was mushy, tasteless and generally inedible. We didn't even eat half of it, but the waitress couldn't have cared less. You might want to avoid this place.

Good and bad
Can't quite decide if I like this place. PROS: Great neighborhood, excellent people watching from the tables outside, nice decor, friendly staff, pizza crust is excellent, nicely charred and chewy and fluffy, excellently priced lunch special. CONS: Pizza has far too much cheese on it. My margherita looked more like a pizza bianca/white pie, with thick wedges of slightly rubbery mozzarella covering it. That was disappointing Also desserts are far too sweet.

Amazing Pizza
Stopped in for a pizza and wow we were surprised Everything was great. My husband and I have been to Italy over 20 times, we know good pizza, this is the real thing. Foccaccia, arancini , pizza all perfecto. Atmosphere was laid back, service very friendly and a very good and reasonable wine list. Intend to go back very soon and sample other dishes.

such a great place, poor service
I love the atmosphere at this place. The location is perfect and is so nice and relaxed. The problem is the service is so poor. The servers are clueless about the menu and make you wait forever. Yes, the water glasses stayed filled, but my wine glass remained empty for 30 minutes, after which a check was dropped without asking. Sorry, but if a server is finishing his shift, he should at least alert you that he would like you to close out your check, (because he wants your tip instead of it going to the next server) before dropping it. I hadn't even ordered food and was looking forward to their amazing looking pizzas. Too bad, never got to try it, as even when we asked to keep the check open, they refused. Amazing how much service can make or break an experience!

Best pasta!
We are French tourists and enough of having burgers and fries everywhere! When we saw Olio it was just like finding a good Parisian restaurant! The service was perfect, always smiling, the food was very tasty! Okay we had to wait 20 min for our pastas but it was worthy!! We will return!

Loved this place!
I think this restaurant is seriously underrated. While our insalata caprese (mozzarella, tomato, and basil) was just fair, the bread and Frantoia olive oil were delicious and the gnocchi pesto was out of this world. The pasta tasted homemade and it just melted in your mouth (not for al dente lovers, though). And the pesto was supremely fresh, too. If Frantoia olive oil weren't so expensive ($45 for two bottles!), I'd buy it for myself, but I think I'll just go back to Olio and eat more bread with it. Can't wait to go back here and try more entrees! I really liked the atmosphere, too, casual, but warm and welcoming, and our service was good--our water glasses were always filled promptly and the food came out quickly. I highly recommend!
