Not a Pub
This place is lit like a diner and is quite pricey. There is zero pub atmosphere and the food is not good. Chicken fingers were dry and flavorless, wings were coated in a sweet bbq sauce like Kraft, and the potato skins were mealy. The burger was small and unremarkable. Will not be back.

Consistent
Everytime I visit the Theatre District, I make it a point to eat at Oldcastle. The ambience is far from pretentious -- it is true to form real Irish pub with friendly faces and excellent home cooked cuisine. Highest recommendation.

great little place
We stumbled upon this place one saturday night. And glad we did. It actually felt more English than Irish. Premiership football and a pint of Tetleys. Lovely-jubbly. Very friendly waitress, tasty bar food. Definately be back..

Good Food, Poor Service
Stopped in early on a snowy January evening, food was good, not remarkable but fine. The waitress we started with was great, but she was sent upstairs shortly after taking our order and our "replacement" was terrible. She could barely make eye contact with us and literally threw the food on the table. After the meal we had to ask for coffee and then chase her down for a refill. The restaurant was not packed, and if it was I could certainly understand her being busy - but not so busy she couldn't speak. I doubt we will go back as the same quality of food is available elsewhere and it won't be hard to find better service. I understand that all restaurants have an off night, but I don't want to spend $70+ for the waitress's bad day.

Morning and Evening
We ate hereon numerous occasions both at breakfast and evening. It was so convenient as we were staying at thr Rhiga Royal across the road.Breakfast were varied and fulfilling the evening meals were well cooked and presented really well, service was always friendly, couteous and even being Christmas time never had to wait too long for a table. Also being from over the pond the guiness was most welcome

So, so
While in the city to see a show stopped in on recommendations from this site. Found it to be so, so. Dined upstairs, very busy. Had a fairly long wait for service, order and check. Food was typical bar fare. Let down when chicken in ranch wrap was fried and overpowered with bacon. Not thrilled by the experience.

Great Find
We really enjoyed our time there. We were having dinner before boarding a bus back to CT. The waitresses were great and the food was delicious. We highly recommend it and plan to return there on our next trip.
