Beautiful place, great food and service

Tried Olana for the first time and was very impressed. The service was just right-never had to flag down a waiter and also not hovered over. The steak was very flavorful as was the chicken. The veal meat sauce was excellent, although I would pair it with a different pasta, not the spinach pasta it came with. Dessert was also excellent, even the carrot cake which I normally do not like. The atmosphere is a big plus. A very warm feel and quite spacious. Highly recommend.

Olana, at Last - Can't Wait to Go Back

We went to Olana for dinner last night and had an excellent experience. Olana is a place to stop in for a drink and nosh or enjoy dinner. The menu has changed (not the same as on their website), they still have the prix fixe though our group opted to order ala carte. Most of us had the tagliatellini with seafood for our entree. Others had the tagliatelle with pork shoulder. For apps I had the octopus with blood orange and orzo - delicious. I also had the crespelle with mushrooms. Very good. One of our friends arrived late (we had finished our apps) and our server managed to get her entree out quickly and unobtrusively. We all had March birthdays and our chocolate sundae dessert came out on 3 plates with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate, sliced into bite size pieces with candles on top. The owner was in the house and stopped by our table. A lovely evening. Can't wait to go back.

    Great Restaurant Week pick!

We came here for Restaurant Week and their crispy, free-range chicken was to die for--perfect batter and texture. A sweet onion soup was creamy and unique. Dessert--a triple chocolate sundae--was great too! The owner was very gracious to us and gave us a free mini-cake to celebrate our anniversary. A great place for a fancier night out.

    Not so great

Recently had lunch there. The meatballs were fine- but served in an un-inventive, bland manner. The preparation of the fish was great, very flavorful sauce. The fish itself was a slice of skin. I apparently got the teenage geek fish --all skin and bones (bones removed). The dessert was great. Unfortunately named chocolate peanut blackout cake (i thought even tgifriday's quit using 'blackout' it had become so cliched.) The service was not bad in so much as just not knowledgeable or prepared -- kind of felt like a bored but not rude counterperson from McDonalds.

    Better than anticipated

Varied menu though somewhat limited wine list. Chef was nice enough to change preparation of food per my request. Fish dish was excellent in taste, quality and quantity. Gracious owner was present. Would certainly return.

    Pleasant Suprise

Went for restaurant week with 5 of my girlfriends. We did price fix meal. The pastas were to die for and we loved the trout and crispy chicken. The restaurant was jam packed, good vibe, and warm, capable service given how many people were in there. Desserts were unique and tasty including a nice individual birthday cake. Highly reccomend and will be back.

    Sorry we dissapointed

I believe all restaurants have misstepped from time to time. Constructive criticism helps all restaurants to grow; however to say that Olana is a waste of real estate is a bit harsh and unfair. Unfortunately you did not bring your dissatisfaction to the attention of the manager. I regret that we were not able to rectify your situation. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Hope you would give us a try again. Al Di Meglio Chef/Owner
