    A Hidden GEM!

This is the best "cheap eats" sushi joint in the city. The prices are amazing, and the food is great! Very high quality fish, and well prepared. The owners are a lovely couple, who are super friendly and take a lot of pride in their little slice of NY Sushi Heaven. I highly recommend this for your first choice in ordering inexpensive Sushi, or a quaint night in their low-key and cute pocket sized restaurant... truly a NY City Gem!

    Disapponting!

Our office just moved to the nabe and I was eager to try this place since it was just across the street. Blgggh! I ordered a Gyu-don--beef bowl--which is not exactly the most complicated dish. But instead of a simple beef and onions over rice (which even mega-chains can do decently), I got some sort of an omelette concoction with thick strips of charred--and I mean CHARRED beef-smothered in a horrible gloopy brown sauce. People, AVOID this place. They clearly have no idea what they are doing.

I would get mercury poisoning for this!!

This place is so good, I would eat it until I got mercury poisoning and went blind. I must order take-out from here thirteen times a week. The fish is always fresh, the staff always friendly, and for dine-in it's a comfy, tucked away, look-what-I-found joint. For sushi in this price range, I can't think of a place that beats it - the only way to upgrade is to go up a level in fancy.

    mmmmmmmmmmmmm

LOVE this place-- its great food, even towards the times of the week when you're not supposed to order sushi in the city, its still good and fresh.

    honestly, amazing

i cant even believe people have had bad experiences here. ive never actually eaten at the restaurant - i always order delivery - but every time i have (which is probably once per week for the past year), i have had an excellent meal. the sushi is great, and for the price, you really cant beat it!

    Not anything special

I got take-out sushi here for lunch today after reading some good reviews on this site. The sushi lunch special is a good deal--two rolls plus soup or salad for $7. The sushi wasn't particularly bad, but it wasn't particularly good either. The avocado was a little squishy, and the salmon didn't have much flavor. Like I said, the price was good, but I don't think I'll be back.

    Always the best

I have patronized Ogawa at least once a week for two years and not once have I ever been served sushi that was anything short of excellent. Moreover my experience has shown the service to be attentive and friendly. I'm surprised the previous reviewer was unhappy but I urge you to consider the numerous glowing reviews when making a decision.
