We will definintely come back!
We recently tried Ofrenda with our friends and everyone definitely enjoyed it. The guac was solid, though you will need two orders for four people. The guys had the steak and it was excellent, and that's not even mentioning the extremely reasonable price tag. The ladies had the scallops, and they were both very pleased with them as well. The service was a bit spotty, as I had to flag down the waitress twice, and they brought out our entrees noticeably too quickly. That said, they didn't rush us out, and everyone was very friendly, so no big deal. One comment I will make is they need an extra entranceway, you know, the standard NYC double-door because it was pretty chilly outside, and thus inside.

Too loud!
Food was good, Margaritas were nice and strong, staff was friendly, but the music was so loud the entire time, that me and my two friends were shouting at each other. I noticed two other tables having the same struggle to hear each other, and after while, like us, stop talking ... and just look around at the customers and the staff who were dancing ... it completely ruined the experience for us, who cut our visit short because of it ... we simply couldn't enjoy our stay ... Management has to make up their mind whether they want to run a Disco, or a Restaurant, you can't have both ... background music is OK, music that does not allow your customer to hear each other is not.

Incredible!
Incredible, authentic Mexican food and drink offered at very reasonable prices. Try the quesadillas and the jalapeno margarita. Service was fantastic! This is one of NYC's best-kept secrets which I fear isn't going to remain secret for much longer. Really a must-go!

My New Fave West Village Mexican
Sophisticated, upscale cuisine featuring unique offerings not seen on the menus of most Mexican restaurants. I had the scallops, which were delicious, and my friend had the enchiladas de huitlacoche, which he loved. Margaritas were perfectly executed. Service cannot be overstated in my opinion, and the waitstaff (special shout-out to Orlando!) was friendly, knowledgeable, and highly professional. The ambiance was rustic, warm and inviting. Of special note is their gorgeous bar. I will definitely be returning and will recommend this place to others.

Not the same place...
This used to be one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Not any more. The food is not at the level it used to be and the crowds are right out of fraternity row. There was a table of extremely loud women who continuously yelled and screamed. We couldn't hear ourselves think and even commiserated with the table next to us. The host did nothing but encourage these women. This is not proper etiquette for a host who obviously didn't care about anyone else's experience at the restaurant. The next table left quickly, as we did, only to have a better dinner at a restaurant nearby. Never again...

Excellent!
My husband and I ate here on Saturday night. When we walked in, we gave the hostess our name of the reservation and she said our table was waiting for us. As we walked to the table, the hostess noticed that two people from a different table had decided to sit at our table and order dessert. With that being said, we no longer had a table. The hostess talked to the owner and the owner said there was a mistake, explained what happened, said we would have the next table and offered to buy us two drinks of our choice. We waited about 5 extra minutes for our table. The waitress was great. The meal was perfectly paced. The food was delicious. The place also had a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for not overpriced Mexican food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. Also, the owner was fantastic. He came over to the table several times to make sure everything was going smoothly.

Que Delicioso
In short the Brunch is awesome! To come clean, I've been there twice and got the SAME thing both times: The Huevos Divorciados are great!....uniquely bursting with flavor and the salad and potatoes it comes with are out of this world...potatoes- perfectly cooked to a crisp and the salad- lightly and tastefully dressed. Don't be afraid to add on extras...they are cheap, and for what you get it is a great opportunity to get creative!...I added chorizo to my aforementioned dish which was perfect us carnivorous types. This spot is right in my hood and I don't know how popular it has caught on yet, so I hope people enjoy it and I can make it a staple.…however not too popular…no waiting please!!! Cheers!
