Odessa has the best comfort diner food that I have found in the city. Where can you get a fresh green salad, homemade incredibly delicious challah bread and butter, REAL chicken cordon bleu with REAL mashed potatoes and gravy, and all this for $9.95! True, the service is hit or miss and the atomsphere a bit too bright, but hey, it's Avenue A, and hasn't caved in to yuppie trendiness. If you're hungry at any time, day or night, you will FILL your belly and go home very happy as we've done many times.

Odessa won't blow your taste buds away, but it's decent. The sandwiches, burgers, fries and pierogies are my favorites. Like the other reviewer said, the fact that it's open 24 hours is a HUGE plus. It's packed on weekend nights, and I'm almost certain they deliver 24 hours, too. If you're anywhere near Ave A, starving and don't want to spend more than $10 on a solid meal, head to Odessa!

Odessa serves great Ukrainian (NOT Russian) cuisine. The potato pancakes are definitely a must. NOt as good as Veselka, but it's up there.

Odessa is cheap, but the food is nothing to write home about, in my opinion. Not great or horrible, just okay. It is open 24-7, which is a big plus!

I have eaten in the Odessa for the last 20 years and if I knew that I was going to have my last meal, it would be here! The food is wonderful, portions are large, service is quick and friendly plus it's in the east village so you get a floor show just being there! You will never regret trying this restaurant. I live in the Bronx and make the trip here whenever I want a relaxing, enjoyable meal.

Odessa is the kind of play one goes when you cannot decide what you want, but you know you want good food for a low price. A step above diner-food, I've eaten here many times with few complaints. One of the prime advantages is the fact that they have TWO restaurants, one is sort of a cafe/bar, while the restaurant is self-explanatory (though i think the restaurant has more of a menu selection). The waitstaff is pretty good, and the food comes in large portions for an extremely reasonable price. Highly recommended.
