    Very Good

Just wanted to try this place and it turned out to be fantastic. The flavors were creative and imaginative without being precious or annoying. It's the type of food where you take a bite and can't help but smile at the combination of flavors. The Loup de Mer was exceptional as was everything else. One drawback, if you can call it that, was the atmosphere...a bit snoozy and quiet enough to hear a pin drop. Not exactly Balthazar, but then again neither is the food.

Luxurious 4 star service and seafood like i've never even imagined. Worth the high prices.

The Best Seafood In NYC Bar None

There is a negative review for Oceana below that must have been written by a waiter who is pissed at getting canned, or by someone whose taste buds were burned off in a horrible accident. Oceana means a night of heavenly dining, where all the details are taken care of and you wonder how food can taste like nothing you've ever had before. Sometimes you'll find a small portion of something or other, but it will be like a small portion of golden sunshine. Bring your Amex and get ready to smile.

The best seafood in NYC. It's very hard to have four people have four appetizers and four entrees and not find any fault, but this place is the exception. I have eaten at Le Bernardin, and Oceana, when Rick Moonen was chef many times and this new chef beats them both. The dish that sticks out the most is the skate with pastrami. I know it sounds weird but it is amazing. Obviously I recommend this place highly, particularly when money is no object, as the tab is quite high. It's worth every penny.

    one of new york's finest

I entertain clients at Oceana for a couple of reasons - excellent food and a professional staff. It can get pricey if you order beyond the prix fixe menu, but that's what corp accounts are for: )

    Great Experience, Excellent Food.....

It was a while ago that I went but I enjoyed it so much that I still wanted to write a review. We went there with a party of like 8 or 9 and had an amazing time. Service was superb, top notch waiters. Food was near perfect and presentation was worthy of taking a picture. I loved the feeling of being inside a boat as we are eating. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good seafood place in the city.

Epat?e, or, in English , "blown away"!

Our group of five persons included at least 3 semi-official gourmands and two 'regular' people. Everyone found the whole experience truly wonderful -- a lovely, intimate setting, excellent service, and the food!! I have only eaten once in NYC as well as I ate at Oceana.
