A good idea gone sour
Oceana, once the pride of seafood lovers is no more. Recently moved to a new locale, this once staid establishment that prided itself on creatuve seafood dishes and impeccable service is quite literaly a total disappointment and not worth 5 minutes of your precious time. Having to wait atleast 20 minutes beforoe a waiter appeared to offer a drink, this overpriced loud noisy appearance without substance its former self falls flat on quality yet asks for a rediculous amount of cash for mediocrity. Again, waiting for simple cocktail sauce for my fish (fresh - are you kidding?) I could have finished War and Peace. The fish was dry yet of course expensive and so it the wine. The bread was actually ok. Dont waste your time at this place - Capt Jacks fishs fry at home is a better choice. I feel sorry for the tourists who may be misled by the "top 10 tourist restaurants..." Keep your money and your appetite for anything else.

Great Client Seafood Spot
I agree with the below that says avoid the back room if you want to sit with a nicer crowd. You have to get raw bar and save room for dessert. Enjoy!

Will definitely go back again
The food was fresh and delicious, atmosphere and service was good. An enjoyable meal all in all. Definitely would go back again.

Very Nice
The food is very professionally presented and fresh. Avoid the back room where they stick the tourists and cheap wanna-be foodies. The front had a business crowd that my boss appreciated. Good desserts too.

best seafod in ny
I cannot disagree more with the review below. I also have been eating at oceana since it opened and find the new location better than ever, except it can get noisy. The chef is creative and accomodating and they have one of the best trained staffs in NY. I cannot possibly imagine who that co owner was--it just seems so contrary to every experience i have had at oceana.

Cocktails Anyone....
Often head here after work for amazing cocktails and bar snacks. It's become my Go-To spot. Have Ektoras (bartender) shake you up one of his signature drinks. Fried calamari is a must have.
