Service was poor. My party was seated 30 minutes after the time of our reservation. We were only given a table in the bar/lounge (not the dining room) otherwise we'd have to wait much longer. We had to ask for menus after being seated for five minutes.

how about telling your staff not to remove plates when half the table is still eating? it's rude and puts the still eating patrons under pressure to rush to finish. so easy to correct but over many years it still keeps happening. otherwise a good place to dine.

A recent meal at Ocean Grill turned out to be a mixed experience. The food was excellent--well prepared, tasty and nicely presented. The waiter was courteous and quick. But the noise level got worse as the evening wore on, the assistant waiter had the finesse of an auto assembly-line worker, and the push for alcohol sales was too persistent. It might be good to bring along a flashlight if you want to read the menu. Luckily we did.

Superb food. Professional, courteous staff. One of the best restaurants on the UWS.

A recent lunch again gets a mixed review from this customer: Nice surroundings, first-class food, third-class service: An unconscionable wait for a couple of salads. Really unacceptable.

Last minute decision to have dinner here. It's very close to our apt. but we don't dine here that often as it can be a bit pricey for a casual dinner, but the food is generally very good. We had a very nice meal - yummy sushi and good entrees - the chilean sea bass was delicious, the swordfish was flavorful but a little dry. Service was generally good although it was busy. We enjoyed our meals overall, but the experience was marred by the fact that we saw everyone around us receiving little bags of muffins to take home except for us! At first we thought it was just an oversight, but we were there for a little while after paying, finishing our wine, and still did not receive our bags. While not a big deal, it was disappointing and made us feel a bit slighted.

Not that I ate at too many fine-dining but this was my best experience! We were 4 and ordered the pri-fix 3 course dinner at Restaurant week and it was perfect, food was great, price as well and service was even too much for me. Would defnitely come back even to pay more..
