Not recommending
I stopped by this kiosk to try their menu that a girlfriend had told me about only to be utterly over the whole experience before the food arrived. There are no walls so when the manager on duty decided to start shadowing and harassing some of her staff I was not amused. It was quite embarrassing to have to overhear this manager speak so meanly of her staff. I felt sorry for the waitress and will not be recommending any of my friends to check it out. The price is not worth the show.

Great concept and food!
I've read peoples reviews and I don't know what they are talking about....Obika not only is a very cool concept with a great atmosphere but the food is absolutely delicious! I guess some peoples palate are not sophisticated enough for fresh daily imported cuisine. My only gripe is they don't serve wine which would go perfectly with any meal they serve but I hear that they will be serving wine soon

Beware of built in tip
Dined at Obika for lunch on Saturday. The service was not good, yet when the bill arrived, I noticed that they added a 20% gratuity automatically. Below that, there was a line for me to add on additional tip! There were only two of us, so I don't understand the automatic tip at all, and 20% is egregious.

No reason for this
Mozzarella bar. The words brought wondrous images to my mind. Finally, atfer wanting to check this place out for a couple of years, I made my way over. Yikes, what a disappointment. It's a simple sandwich bar with nothing special to it at all. What was the fuss all about. Waste of time and money. Go to Murray's for the real deal.

Great Place for Lunch
My friends and I happened to be walking though the Trump building towards Madison Avenue when we noticed this Mozzarella Bar. We sat down and ordered some pannins and a sampler platter. The food and service was great. I've never been to a place where all the cheeses and meats are actually imported from Italy. The restaurant is located inside an Atrium, so it was a very nice atmosphere to sit down and enjoy a snack. We will all be back!

High quality food that is surprisingly not tasty
Food that comes at a very expensive price should be tasty. Tasty obika is not. For $9.25 to go, I got the mozzarella panini. The actual ingredients seemed to be ok, but they didnt go well together. The arugula in it didn't match the mozzarella, it just didn't taste that great at all. The actual panini they used felt a bit on the cheap side. It was premade, the person at the counter basically heated it up. It was soft and not toasty in any way. It was amazingly small and unfilling. When I was done I felt unsatisfied and extremely ripped off. I'll never go to this place again.

Good cocept, lousy execution
I really wanted to like this place. The idea is good, but you got to bring the goods. The Mozzarella is not very good, it is bland and a little tough, the buratta should be gooyier and runny it is not. The pasta is fair and nothing more. The salads are weak and the staff is clueless. If you go on off hours you might as well be asking a doorman what to eat. The portions are also small and you can get better cheese on Arthur Avenue or in Carroll Gardens.
