Oaxaca's terrible delivery service is well-known and well-documented (here and and elsewhere) but now even the in-restuarant experience has taken a dive. Went today. Counter server was so rude that I wondered if he'd ever been to a restaurant. He seemed to have no understanding that being brisk and unhelpful and unfriendly is actually not how it's supposed to be done. He acted like he just couldn't be bothered. Taking personal cell calls, etc. Then I sat down and the table was dirty. I asked them to wipe it down and the same counter server failed to even grab a sponge - he just wiped off the visible food with a regular napkin and left the table as before. The tacos are still the same - meh - but now that Oaxaca fails in delivery, service, and even cleanliness... no more Oaxaca for me.

Food is incredibly fresh, awesomely spiced and deliciously prepared. Sublime guacamole, soft shell tacos to die for and enchiladas so good you won't stop eating them until they're gone gone gone. Oaxaca is hands-down the best Taqueria in Park Slope, and if you're on the adventurous side they're probably the best in the city since they do the traditional very very well, but they also make stuff like the Korean Taco and the Taco de Caveza. Oaxaca Tacos FTW!

Here comes the new LA style taqueria to Park Slope. I've been dreaming about a place like this ever since I moved here. The tacos range from good to outrageous. The stand outs so far are the veggie (potato), stewed chicken and chebezo (I could be spelling it wrong but it's marinated beef cheek). The real hero is the Korean taco. In the style of the tacos from the LA Kogi truck, it's so good I nearly bit my fingers devouring this incredibly tasty creation. You'll want ten more after you inhale the first. The place is a little small, and the only suggestion I can make is that they put a table or two out front. Also, once they get a sense of how busy they'll become, they may want to consider another cook to speed things along. But the wait is minimal now, and definitely worth it.

This is a tiny, no thrills taqueria, but the food is excellent. I'm from san diego so I know good mexican food. I expect it to be fresh, simple, flavorful and inexpensive. Oaxaca delivers on all my expectations. The owner is a very friendly brooklyn native. Highly recommended.

great little taco spot that opened up on the once barren block between president and carrol. with the new bars popping up around the block, this place will be the new hot spot at night. great food, short wait, perfect on the go too.
