    Yums

I've always needed a good go-to place near Union Square. This is it. Pork belly, veal meatballs, coconut tiger shrimp. All awesome. The sandwich base is basically the same for all of them, with just a different protein. But thats okay with me. Its great.

    Overrated and Overpriced

This place got some good reviews in my banh mi searches, and I was extremely disappointed. The bread is good, but the sandwich is tiny, kind of bland, and the prices are extremely high. That was a one time only visit for me.

    Uncompromising

While the food was excellent, I was extremely disappointed with their policy of not making any changes to the sandwiches. Every single sandwich comes with mayo, cilantro, pickled carrots and cucumber. I HATE mayo and don't care for cilantro either. I nicely asked for my sandwich without these items, to which the cashier said, "All the sandwiches come with it. We can't take them off." I asked if the sandwiches were pre-made, and he said they were not, that it was just restaurant policy not to make any exceptions. When my sandwich came, it was laden with mayo, which so easily could never have been put on in the first place--I really do not understand why they'd want to waste ingredients, when I'm just going to take them right off. There's also no bathroom in this place. While the food tasted good, the overall experience left a poor taste in my mouth.

    you should go!

amazing for exactly what it is- tasty vietnamese sandwiches that are full of flavor. its meant to be a no hype little sandwich shop all about the food. the service was excellent, my meal was prepared in minutes. ive had the pork and the veal meatball sandwiches and loved them both, the bread is toasted just right. the line can sometimes get long...but its because the place rocks. its worth the $8.

    mmm meatballs

i was nervous about this place because it seemed it had been overhyped. i am happy to say all of the attention is well-deserved. i agree with other reviewers on the point that the sandwiches are small - its not the best value. but i was with a friend and we ordered four and loved them all. in order of preference: vegetarian, meatballs, catfish, pork. we didn't stay so i don't know about the seating area. the service was fast and the lady at the counter was friendly and dancing around a bit. i hope they start doing delivery soon (we didn't eat the sandwiches until 30 minutes later and they were still perfect).

    please, don't waste your time

even the pickled carrots on here are subpar, go to a real vietnamese sandwich place. don't waste your time at this so called cambodian one masquerading as a real vietnamese sandwich shop. this place is an expensive joke.

    awesome

I love where I'm living, now it got better. just a few blocks away is this new cambodian joint. great quality. so much better than the other 'banh mi' places. the bread, the top quality ingredients. just only problem. long lines.
