From the start we got the service we deserved. We got a table next to their wonderful fire place and the waiter gave us the best service we have ever gotten. From the start he recommed one of the chef's special, although it was a fish (white ruffy) i never heard of. the results we excellent. I ended the evening with their wonderful pouched pear. Their food and service was excellent i highly recommend it.

My girlfiend and I had a late lunch here on Sunday. We walked in to the almost empty restaurant, and from the start the attitude of the two waiters was inhospitable. Only one other table was occupied by a group finishing lunch. We wondered if the staff might be changing shift or something. The food was good (we each had a simple bowl of pasta) at the price. Well cooked, fresh flavours, not oversalted. Neither of us are picky or pedantic people, but the service here was so lacking, we were joking about it. They seemed surprisingly friendlier when we came to leave. Given this place's reputation, and that we are local, we will probably give it another go at dinner, but I certainly hope the staff have shaped up by then.

I had a great experience last weekend, i found notaro's restaurant through zagat, the restaurant is very romantic with a beautiful fire place in the back. That night the waiter recommended me to one of the chef's specials, it was out of this world i had baby lamb chops made in this delicious figs sauce. But before my entree i had stuffed calamari with shrimps and salmon in horse radish sauce. The service was amazing the waiters were so attentive and very friendly.

If you like Italian, you'll love Notaro's. The food and service are excellent and you can't beat the price. My favorite Italian dish is the Gnocci Suprema. Notaro's also has the most delicious Filet Mignon I ever tasted. And the desserts are wonderful.

After reading such rave reviews, I decided to give this place a try. My appetizer was wonderful (stuffed eggplant), but I can't say the same thing about my dinner. I got the vodka sauce pasta and added chicken, which turned out to be way too dry and pasta was not cooked enough and the sauce was just a little too bland. It could have been a bad dish to order, since my friends like theirs, but I have definitely tasted much better Italian before. But I do have to say the service was great and the place is really charming and warm...so I am going to pass next time, but maybe some other will have better luck.

I've ordered from just about every Italian place in the neighborhood and this one is not close to the top. Food is OK, but the quality varies from dish to dish. My advice is to seek your italian elsewhere.

The service at Notaro is super attentive. The food was absolutely exquisite, especially the chicken francese. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
