Brunch is a must!
I don't even live in Bushwick but will go for brunch at Northeast Kingdom anytime. The dishes are simple, maybe you could make them at home but it would never be quite as good as eating here. Ingredients are super-fresh, drinks are lovely and the waitstaff is a friendly bunch. I consider my Bushwick friends lucky for having this place around the corner.

Portions Have Changed Substantially
When I lived in Bushwick, I went to NEK at least once or twice a week, if not more. The food was delicious, ambiance great, drinks were cheap and the wine was good. My boyfriend at the time- who loathes all bougie, upper crust in neighborhoods where they shouldn't be establishments, even admitted that it was a good deal and enjoyed everything he ordered when I would force him to go. I have since moved back to Williamsburg and have not been to NEK in a while- I took friends tonight and suffice to say, I was very dissapointed. Among three of us, we ordered 5 appetizers and a salad. We walked out not full, even though we asked to refill our bread 3 times and spent 70 dollars. I was looking forward to ordering a salad I had eaten many times before, only to discover the plate was half the size it was when I was last there. The quality of the food has not changed in the slightest, but I have to wonder how such reasonable establishment became meager.

My favorite restaurant in Bushwick
In this area, I can say this restaurant is the only legitimate one. Other than Spanish foods, it's hard to find restaurant here. One I found is this, but it's soooo good. As other reviews said, it's very cozy and great service. Foods are above my expectations. It is just so crowded on Friday night, but I like they offer downstairs space for waiting. Will come back again.

neighborhood gem
I really liked this place. I tried it once and will go back. We were there on a crowded evening but got seats at the bar. Service was great. Food was excellent. Usually food service at the bar isn't anything to write home about, but the bartender was really nice and answered a lot of questions for us. He was very knowledgeable.

Comfort Food with Cachet
What a gem in Bushwick! Always convivial, with creative takes and fun surprises on menu items. Highlights: The duck bahn mi , rabbit bangers & mash, chicken pot pie. Banana cream pie is a must.

No Bloody Marys
Well they do have Bloody Marys and they are really good. The one caveat is they are only served at brunch. Please, I would like Bloody Marys all of the time.
