Great Dinner
Beautifully prepared food, very tasty, rather quiet atmosphere, and excellent service. Great desserts too. What more can you ask.

Just okay...
This place has such potential. The initial ambiance is cute and cozy, until you take a harder look and realize the fabrics and decor is fairly outdated and could use a some revamping. The food was just ok. Nothing impressive whatsoever. The presentation was nice. Three out of four of us the pre fixe menu, which was a good selection of the menu. I had a potato leek soup with bacon and crispy onions... and it was just okay. I also had the Long island duck breast, with wild rice and pepper timbale, kumquat and cherry compote, brown shallot au jus - which was just okay. The rice was undercooked and over done with peppers and the duck was just... eh. For dessert I had a blueberry turnover with a raspberry lemon sauce... and it was just okay. To be honest, even my other guest's meals were pretty forgettable. I will say though that the wine list was nice and surprisingly affordable. The service, although nice, was sooooo incredibly slow. We were there for 3 hours, and not by choice. Often we had empty plates sitting in front of us for far too long and we were there over 20 minutes before they brought bread and such to the table. I enjoy a leisrely meal, but this was a bit too slow paced in my opinion. All in all, I won't be back or recommend this place. I certainly hope someone buys it and revamps it... like I said, it has good bones but needs some serious overhauling.

Great place
Went here for the 3rd time in 4 months last night. This place does not disappoint. And last night I discovered they have a great bar in the back of restaurant. Food is always good, service was good. Found it by accident but it is staying on my list.

A gem!
Second recent visit. The food is creative in still a familiar mode (no pomegranate seed extracts...), and masterfully done. Describe your taste for medium-medium-rare lamb, and, lo and behold, that's exactly what you get. Four of us on two occasions shared a wide variety of everything, and there was not a single disappointment in the lot - to the contrary. I was surprised at the negative comment about service, as we were a long-sitting talkative group, who may have shorted the waitress out of an additional table each time, but she was kind and thoughtful as could be at every step, as were the other staff. And the prices are incredibly reasonable for what you get. The a la carte entree with a side dish is unbelievably inexpensive. We'll be taking out-of-towners here to show what Ny can do at its best.

Where did our waitress go?
Ate here with a party of 5 on the Sunday evening of Memorial Day Weekend. Place is cute in an old New York sort of way. Food was good, but the thing that killed me was our waitress, she just always seemed like we were putting her out, the icing on the cake was when after she took our dessert order, she dispappeared. never to be seen from again. I thought I saw a glimpse of her in her street clothes as she walked out the door (she must have gotten cut but never thanked us or let us know she was leaving....would have been the right thing to do) - I think she forgot to let anyone know eith as No one ever came to our table after that! after abot 35 minutes we had to go to the hostess to ask for our check, we were picking up the tab for our friends and the hostess blurted out the full amount to the table idiot! Hint to Owner: hire new, more professional staff! Too bad, could have been nice, unfortunatly it wasn't.

best reliable brunch around
brunch here is fantastic. wait staff is nice, food is an incredible value, and its a perfect relaxing sunday morning atmosphere... ive done a lot of the west village brunches, with long lines, crowded seating, etc... but if you ever just want some good food, no hassles, and not pay an arm and a leg, this is the place to go. the whole wheat blueberry pancakes are great.

sunday jazz brunch
Had sunday jazz brunch here recently. Food was good - nothing spectacular - but good value for your money! Menu is very well priced. Service was a little slow and some of the assistants seemed a little unsure. Live jazz was a great touch, however would've been a nicer atmosphere had there been more tables occupied...room was pretty empty. Would consider going back.
