Tasty Food, Intimate Atmosphere
We happened upon Nook in a search for somewhere to eat while staying at Yotel in NYC. It was nearby to the hotel and after checking out the menu decided it was a solid option. The food was amazing, but the menu was small. The prices were affordable but the restaurant is cash only as well as BYOB. I would recommend making a reservation as there are only about 10 tables and we were lucky to get one. We got there right at 5 but after it started to fill up a bit they started turning people without reservations away!

Huge let down
Brunch is place where I want to relax and catch up. The energy was frantic and the owner was rude, think soup nazi on Seinfeld, but for 55 dollars for breakfast this price point does not warrant such rude service. The scramble was soggy, our 5.95 fresh squeezed orange juice was not fresh squeezed and was served in a small wine glass. The apple pancakes were good, not great. Not worth the hype.

Local Favorite
I love this place! Be sure to make reservations because its a very small space, but worth the wait. The food and service are impeccable.

Love this place!
I have lived in Hell's Kitchen for a few years now and this has to be my favorite go-to place for dinner. It gets really packed sometimes because it is small and popular but the food is AMAZING and I love that they are Byob. It is worth the wait to get inside and taste the food. I recommend the mushroom cigars, tuna tartar, and the filet. Desserts are really good too, especially the peanut butter pie.

Not worth it!
I recently dined with girlfriends at the Nook. Looking forward to a great meal and catching up with friends while sipping on some wine we thought this would be the perfect place. Boy, we were we wrong! Our table was moved (fine) to a 4 top with 5 people (we were Ok with it) but then we were treated horrible! It had to be the worst service I have ever experienced. Being in the industry, I understand the pressure of owning a restaurant but "shhhing" customers is unacceptable. Not only were we shhhhed by the owner, we were cursed at by the owner. This again is unnaceptable. We were paying customers just like everyone else. We ordered appetizers, entress, dessert, and coffee and were rushed the entire meal. The restaurant is small so people should know they have to wait for a table. We were there 1 hour and 45 minutes and were told (more than once) that we caused him an "f-ing table"... Well, we will not be back. Our food was good but there are plenty of great restaurants in the area. I would not recommend the Nook to anyone. Asking for our wine to be opened felt like it was annoying for the owner. Look elsewhere, you can get a great piece of salmon, tuna, or a juicy burger at many other restaurants in the city. The BYOB was a plus but I rather pay more than be treated this way on a night out.

Good food, check your reservation
I've been here twice, and loved it both times. (Highly recommend the rosemary fries, cucumber dill salad, mushroom cigars, and salmon tartare! The entrees are good, too, but the sides and appetizers are outstanding.) The service has also been good. Here's my one complaint, which has been echoed by others -- they do NOT have a reliable reservation system. The first time I went, no problem. The second time, they had recorded the wrong time for our reservation and didn't have any tables available (it's tiny) so we had to go somewhere else. The third time, I called the day before to confirm the reservation, and they had switched the time and number of people. I straightened it out and they did have us down that time. So: 2/3, not bad, but they really should get this right every time.
