I have been coming here for close to 30 years. So that must say something. For a noodle place, you cannot beat this place. How is the atmosphere? Hey, it's a noodle house, ok? Not continental cuisine. Don't expect hot towels or dunking bowl. Good value for food, hands down. When you go, ask for David, if he's still there. Don't forget the tip either. They will chase your for but that's their bread and butter. BTW...it's presently closed due to a fire in the basement.

I have been eating at this restaurant since I was a kid. This place is great. The waiters are friendly, the food is delicious, super clean, and best of all its incredibly cheap. I recommend this place before anywhere else in chinatown.

MenuPages people are savy and smart but guys I must have come here on a bad day. Not being a 'regular' I got cold tea the 1st time in and hot water in a glass to wash away the burnt throat. I chatted with a 3X a week regular who gets the royal treatment. ( A FULL pot of hot tea) and a tea cup NOT a yurhzeit glass for the tea. The service was neglectful- I was choking to death and had to Marcel Marceau sign language of my near death moment of suffocation from the hot sauce I added to the clear broth they call soup (with lunch)$5.50 till 3:30 daily My dish was just so so. Beef Sichuan which was neither Beef nor sichuan. The white rice reminded me of how I make white rice at home which is to barf from. I'm sorry to report it was an unaccetable lunch. The food here was tasteless, uninspired and a total waste of my time and money.

I recommend: pan fried flounder, salt and pepper squid, peking pork chops, pan fried seafood noodle, beef tendon with bitter melon, snow pea shoots in garlic sauce, carp belly in ginger scallion sauce

J.M. is the best value for the dollar anywhere in NY. They have the best wontons and soups of any restaurant or noodle shop East of Hong Kong.

We order delivery from J.M. a few times a week, it's great. My only problem is that the people are a little on the rude side. I recommend the rice plates, they're incredibly cheap and come with so much food. One issue I've often had with them, however, is that no matter what vegetable dish I order they always send me Chinese broccoli instead. They repeat the order to me correctly, but I somehow ALWAYS end up with Chinese broccoli. Don't get me wrong, it's incredibly tasty, it just isn't what I ordered. The delivery is fast and the food is fresh so it makes it worth it to have them always get my order slightly wrong.
