    Best Pizza in the LES

I have lived in the lower east side for two years now and Nonna's is the best I have had so far. Try the "Magic" square pizza, the crust is amazing. Enjoy..

"ALL HOMEMADE / ALL THE TIME"

Nonna Apa Pizzeria opened a little over 6 months ago. The same location used to be another pizza joint. Hence the confusion when I tried to order from them off a menu that had the right address but the wrong items. While they didn't have the wings I wanted to order, they made me a large Margherita pizza. I later found out that it wasn't on their menu. It was perhaps the second most delicious Margehrita pizza I've ever had--L'asso's remains my favorite--and it was for the regular price they would have charged for a large pie--$21. It was HUGE. Their menu--now that I've finally got the right one--features a picture of a smiling grandmother, whom I assume is Nonna Apa, and the motto "ALL HOMEMADE / ALL THE TIME." I believe them. Suddenly the typical Italian fare within the pages of the paper menu hold new meaning. I am now picturing meals personally prepared by Grandma Apa with secret family ingredients (how else can the pizza be sooooo delicious?) and enjoying them in the few seats at the back of the cozy restaurant like I'm a part of the family. Btw, they also serve breakfast and are open from 6 a.m. to midnight 7 days a week.

A beautiful gem in the lower east side.

Nonas has great food with its own unique touch and a relaxed atmosphere. Try the burger for instance, there's not another one like it in new york. The prices are legit, especially on a street thats being overrun with overpriced restaurants with mediocre food. Nona's is a wonderful experience, one i return to regularly...
