    Great veggie burger

Went there on a saturday night with a gift certificate. Had a reservation and were seated immediately. The waiter was helpful and recommended a great wine bottle! We ordered the veggie burger and veggie couscous. Both were good but the burger was amazing. Very tasty. We had outdoor seating so a fly entered my wine glass - the waiter replaced it with no problem. We tipped 20% of the final total (which is proper etiquette). Overall great food, atmosphere, and service.

    Unpleasant experience

Had a groupon for this place so my wife and I went there for dinner on a work night. After waiting 30 min for the waiter to show up to take our order, we started with a couple of cocktails the waiter recommended. Both were awful. My wife's peach bellini had a strange smell. We then waited another eternity for the food to arrive. Both the veggie starter and the 2 main courses (a veggie burger and a veggie tagine) were both bland and completely not worth the price. After a 2+ hour meal, most of it spent waiting, they insisted on adding a mandatory 20% gratuity to our full bill (because we were using a groupon?). This was not stated as mandatory on the menu or anywhere else. The service we got was not even worth a 10% tip. Never going back and strongly recommend against this awful restaurant.

    Good food, great value!

The duck and lamb chops were fantastic and an amazing value at under $18. The calamari salad was amongst the very best I've had anywhere. We also had a vegetarian tagine and it was good but perhaps not as good as some other things on the menu. I was sorry to see that Nomad was not full on a Sunday evening. I think it's a nice place that offers really good value.

    Good for groups

Booked a party of 15 at Nomad this weekend. everyone complimented me on the choice. The food was delicious! Service was friendly and efficient. Everything came out all at the same time. No mistakes. The tajines and couscous were crowd-pleasers. (Don't know why others have reviewed 'sub-par'??) There were no clunkers in the entire menu! It's a bit pricey, but not insanely so. I did minimal research: chose a central location (for most of us that's E. Village), scoped the menu thoroughly in advance, and booked with plenty of time in advance so we could go where we wanted when we wanted. Party Success! Many of my group said we should go back to Nomad again soon!

    Mixed Feelings

Overall I was pleased with the atmosphere, value and service. All were above average. The only issue was with the food. The appetizers and dessert were very good. However, we both got a different tajine for dinner and they were extrely subpar. One was just average and the other was worse than even that. Since every other aspect of the meal was enjoyable, I would go back and try another entree.

    Emjoyable

I ate here for restaurant week and the appetizers and deserts were very good. However, the entrees were very disappointing. We both had a tajine and they were both underwhelming. They give you a good amount of food for a reasonable price. The service and atmosphere is also a positive. Overall I would go back and try a different entree.

    great east village find

We took the kids for something other than the typical Italian or Japanese, and had an outstanding time. The service and food was outstanding. We look forward to going back.
