Relaxed and Tasty
I need to write thos review because it is not often that I experience such a well crafted and tasty meal set to a such a relaxed environment. Try the veal and the mushroom soup (not sure of it was a special but absolutely amazing. Great evening with friends--strongly recomend.

Wonderful Experience
My wife, sister and brother in law and I were in NYC for one night and the concierge at the hotel recommended Nocello's. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the ambiance. Will definitely go again when in NYC. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

So-so food and the service wasn't great either
The food was OK, nothing to write home about. I had a pasta dish, papardelle, and it was OK. My husband had the lamb chops and didn't like them at all. very slow service. the room was fine (sat in the back) but the seating arrangement was quite uncomfortable. wouldn't go back.

Always a great dinner!
The menu selection is always good with interesting/authentic Italian specials. You set the pace of your meal by letting them know if you are heading out to the theater. The service is attentive but wonderfully not intrusive. The owners always stop by your table to assure your meal is enjoyable. Can always count on a nice dinner and love recommending this place to all my out of town friends.

Good food; horrid service
went to this restaurant on saturday with 2 other people. arrived at the same time as another group of 3. made the mistake of telling the waiter we weren't going to a show. the other group received their bread, water and drinks before us. the waiter brought our bottle of white wine and then took another 15 minutes to bring the bucket of ice to put it in. it tooks 15 minutes to get the appetizer and another HOUR to get our main course. the group was long gone and people that came in 45 minutes after us, finished their dinner before we even received ours. when i complained to the waiter, the owner came over to tell me everything is cooked to order and it takes time. how is it cooked? over a log fire. we all had THIN chicken breasts that take 10 minutes, if that. the food was good, once we received it, but the service wasn't.

Great, as Always
I've been to Nocello several times over the past few years, most recently yesterday, and each time it's been worth it. The atmosphere has always had a sort of warmth and intimacy to it that you don't find in many places. The service is attentive and welcoming. And the food, of course, is consistently of quality. The portions may seem a bit smaller than one would expect, but there's a lot packed in there. And on my most recent visit the desserts were surprisingly good. Overall I can't say definitively that it's the best Italian restaurant I've been to, but it still remains one of my favorite.
