I have had the omakase tasting which is incredible and the chef can be creative. Pair it with some sake and it's one of the best restaurant experiences if you sit at the sushi bar. My favorite meal at the table is the miso cod which is the best fish I have ever eaten. I actually crave it on a regular basis. It's expensive but worth it. Make sure you try a sakatini and the lobster salad and the yellow tail and jalepeno sashimi. You won't be disappointed but don't miss the miso cod!

Sit down at the sushi bar, order a Saketini, a black cod with miso, two pieces of toro tuna and two shrimp tempura rolls and enjoy some of the freshest, most delicious food in NY. A terrific meal.

We got the chef's tasting menu. Almost everything was pretty bland and served in miniscule portions. They could've at least made lovely presentations out of the food, but they didn't. The two best things were the black cod and the lobster tempura, but not even those were worth the trip. If the lobster tempura sounds good to you, save your money and go to one of the many reasonably priced chinese establishments in this city and order something fried. You'll most likely get something crispier and in a sauce that's just as tasty, except that you'll get more of it. Dessert was outright terrible. Tiny, un-ripened figs burned on a grill with a napoleon on the side. Server didn't even ask us if we wanted coffee or tea.

My husband and I went to Nobu to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday. It started off wonderful by seeing Helen Hunt in a nearby table! The food was good--the sushi--so-so. Then Martha Stewart walked in with a woman my husband had driven home (he's a limo driver). We enjoyed the meal and a birthday cake! Then went over to Martha's table and chatted with her and her companion. It was a fun evening--one I'll never forget. I was hoping to see Howard Stern!!! I would like to go back again.

We tried for several days to get a reservation at Nobu several months before our trip to NYC. It was worth the trouble! I had heard some things about the service not being good, but my experience was exceptional. Our server, RUBEN, was the best server I have ever had. He was personable, attentive, and most importantly completely understood everything on the menu. He took the time to completely explain everything to us and never made us feel stupid for not knowing what something was. We had 3 people and we all had the $100 tasting menu. The tasting menu is the way to go! It was awesome, the quality of ingredients was unparallel to any other meal we had in the city. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a truly authentic Japanese culinary experience. Oh yeah, we didn't see any celebrities, but the food would have out-shined them anyway!!

My dining experience in NOBU was great, the food was delicious, especially the tuna shahimi salad and the miso cod. The service was superb, and even though I did not see any A-list celebrities there, the atmosphere was hip and exciting.

After hearing about all the hype and trying for 3 months to get a dinner reservation, my girlfriend and I went this past Wednesday. We tried a chef's tasting menu and a few a la carte dishes recommended by our waitress. The food was good, but not great. The portions are small and the prices are BIG. Although it was fun to hob-nob with some minor celebrities, food-wise, there are much better places to go in the city.
