subpar
Food was just subpar! Could not eat the general tso chicken... so greasy!

a diamond disguised as a hole in the wal
The guy on the phone might be short, and quick talking, but he has a mind that never forgets, and he greets everyone with a pleasant "hello my friend" He is a man that , when he takes your order over the phone never messes it up, and is generally the only one that takes the orders. This is for takeout or delivery only . You get a lot ( and I mean A LOT) of food for a little money and the food always tastes fresh. I have eaten from this place for now close to seven years and I have rarely - almost never, had to send anything back. It is a hole in the wall chinese take iut delivery place that is a quintessential NYC diamond in disguise

Unbelievable!
Ordered (literally) over a hundred times from here over the past two years. Never once has there been a mistake on my order and the food is almost always delivered in less than 15 minutes (9 blocks away). Food is consistently hot and fresh.

Best Chinese in the area (tried it All!)
When we first moved to this area, we took a sort of "Chinese Delivery Tour" & spent some time ordering the same dishes at all the neighborhood restaurants to compare quality & taste. This was the hands-down winner. I tend to order steam seafood & veggies not only is it a fave dish, but you cannot hide the food under heavy sauces if you get it steamed. No. 1 had the best, freshest, tastiest food. I've since tried a variety of dishes here, they've all been terrific. Priced so inexpensively, ultra-speedy delivery & friendly service - what more could you ask for? Please don't be turned off by the no-frills storefront... No. 1 is WONDERFUL!!

Best Inexpensive Chinese Around
Waiting for your order is an education. The young women who work the counter are pleasant and amazingly efficient - they remember everything and everyone, and can juggle phone calls, in-store orders and packing without a stumble. The chefs work quickly ,and work together well. Even the delivery men grab the orders promptly, with no hesitation or waiting for others in the same block - no wonder the food arrives still hot. The food is certainly adequate. Perhaps the flavors are a bit bland, but the ingredients are quality, and there's no skimping.

Absolutely the best Chinese around
Having grown up in Washington Heights I must have had chinese food from most restaurants in the hood. Needless to say, most aren't very good. I heard about this place from my friend and decided to order. I have been ordering from them, exclusively, ever since. Their food is perfectly seasoned and fresh. They have great fried chicken and soups. Their rice is always served hot and steaming and their chicken and brocolli is certainly the best I have ever had. If you want great chinese food at a great price then look no further.
