    Different and Great!

Nizza's menu is creative and it was hard to pick between so many yummy choices. Everything we had down to dessert was great! I highly recommend the wild boar lasagna.Try to sit next to the front if you like to people watch, it's a great spot to do so. I found the food comparable to Cafe Fiorello in taste, but for way less money. We will be going back soon.

    Enjoyed it!

Had theater tix and searched Menupages for a modern Italian restaurant in this area and this was 1 of 3 we narrowed down to. They were immediately able to seat us and although the table was right in front of the door the staff took care to make sure the door was immediately closed to keep us comfortable. The waitress was pleasant and helpful with any menu questions we had. Dirty dishes were removed promptly but without rushing and water glasses were kept filled. We had multiple appetitizers, a soup and shared entrees and had no disappointments in the bunch. The portions are not huge but the food is tasty and fresh. The waitress knew 2 of us were sharing an entree and brought it out already divided which was a pleasant surprise. The prices were average for this level restaurant in this neighborhood. Unusual desserts that didn't particularly appeal to our group so can't comment there. The dessert menu also had wine and cheese selections that if given to us in the beginning may have enticed us to order some cheese with our appetizers. Overall a very good experience and there were enough other dishes the 4 of us would still want to try that we would go back to this restaurant again!

    The Best

I had dinner about two weeks ago here. The food was excellent the service sensational. Our waitress was incredible and the manager was just to die to for. I've seen him several times while walking into the restaurant. He said he remembered me by how nice my jacket was and said he was going to give us the best seat in the house. What a gentleman. The food is delicious pumpkin soup, and this pizza with hot coppa are to die for! Nevermind all the food the wine list is even better. Great take a date place!

    A great inexpensive theatre restaurant

What a great little find. The brunch was unusual and delicious. The prices good and the service wonderful. Sat and relaxed over good food.

Unpretentious plus for the theater district

Nizza is charmingly small, engagingly designed and lit, and imaginative in all respects. The decor suffers only from a lack of space (but not excessive crowdedness by NY standards) that requires light weight tables and chairs which while not uncomfortable, do not pamper or lend an air of elegance. It is ultimately another bistro. But the menu is creative; with 3 friends, we found lots to like and nothing to fault. Try it before it becomes popular and consequently spoiled (this is written in 12/07). It shares a kitchen with its neighbor and affiliated older sibling "Marseille". It is particularly convenient for those who arrive from, or would later catch a bus out of, the Port Authority Terminal but by no means should be deemed second rate or a compromise for that. It is a promising place with a bit of sass and provides at least fair value and some surprising good food. The wine list is solid, and the wine served by the carafe was, at our visit, an exceptionally nice surprise.

    My new favorite restaurant

This is my new favorite restaurant! Nizza is the Italian word for Nice, and the emphasis is on the food of the Ligurian Coast, with popular street foods like socca, along with pastas, panini, and more; there are lots of "small plates," and prices are very reasonable. Everything we've had has been great (we've already been there four times since it opened), but be sure to try the socca (better than in Nice!), focaccette, panisse, spicy calamari and potato salad, pansoti, and, for dessert, the orange crostata.
